h2odivers...Ray 952
I owe all of you southerns, from east of the Mississippi, an apology. I shamelessly made fun of you and your love of the boiled peanut. Yes I was a skeptic. How the heck could anyone eat boiled peanuts. Well about ten minutes ago I pulled in a gas station to meet 3 of my guys to give them some lumber they needed for a job. As I'm waiting for them to arrive I see a sign for boiled peanuts. Plain an Cajun spice. Not being one to shy away from a challenge I reluctantly bought both flavors. OMG! Why have I waited so long to try these delicious little morsels?I hope y'all can find it in your hearts to forgive me for my foolish ways Thank you and bless your heart. Travisma 1,317
Welcome to the club. Finish them while they are still hot, or nuke them if they cool off Now how about some Shrimp N Cheez Grits?
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Ok Ray, now you've got me convinced I need to try these. I'll have to strategically plan a gas stop on our way down next month at an exit with all those giant signs. Now how about some Shrimp N Cheez Grits? Yes please!! I've actually made that one myself because it's so yummy. Yes that's right, a born and bred Northern girl in NH made grits. And they were pretty flippin' delicious, if I do say so myself. (and they are now a staple in my pantry)
Beckers 1,136
They look gross. I can't get passed that. (And that's not me hating on them just because of Adam being allergic)How do you eat them? The shells look soft, are they hard to shell?
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Boiled peanuts are nasty. But, it's good to see a post from Ray! TCD

BigTom 76
This is the reason I never insist on some one trying boiled peanuts. There is always less for me and I have to fight for the ones I do get

(And that's not me hating on them just because of Adam being allergic)How do you eat them? The shells look soft, are they hard to shell? If they were boiled correctly, the shell will usually split apart slightly at 1 end and you just pop them apart. They are great once you try them, yes it's hard to get past the first one. I like them with the Cajun seasoning along with a cold beer. You want them soft with still a bit of hardness to them, not entirely mushy.
