Beckers 1,136
http://disneycruiselineblog.com/2015/08/disney-cruise-lines-revising-alcohol-policy-corkage-fee-effective-9302015/It was only a matter of time… Today, Disney Cruise Line made a big announcement and not the one many were hoping to hear. Disney’s generous alcohol policy is changing. The revised alcohol policy will be effective for all new sailings embarking on or after September 30, 2015. The key change in the policy is the limiting of the qualities of wine or champagne and beer as well as prohibiting liquors and spirits. The first bullet point below indicates you can restock at each port of call as long as you board within the limits. Each Guest 21 years and older may bring two bottles of unopened wine or champagne (no larger than 750ml) or six beers (no larger than 12oz) onboard in carry-on luggage at the beginning of the voyage and at each port-of-call.All alcoholic beverages packed in checked luggage will be removed and stored until the completion of the cruise.Wine or champagne in excess of the two allowable bottles or beer in excess of the six beers will be stored and Guests may retrieve them at the end of the voyage. All liquors and spirits (including powdered alcohol) are prohibited and will be stored until the completion of the cruise.Guests must retrieve any stored alcohol at the end of the cruise. Uncollected alcohol will be destroyed and no compensation will be offered.Alcohol brought on board may not be consumed in any lounge or public area.Disney Cruise Line Corkage Fee IncreaseSeptember 30th will also serve as the date for the new corkage fee charged to Guests who bring their own wine or champagne into one of our restaurants will be $25 per bottle, up from $20. Disney Cruise Line’s Terms & Conditions page has already been updated to reflect the change.DCL Alcohol Policy Change September 30 2015What are your thoughts? The one issue I will take with this new policy is that it does not take inconsideration the duration of the itinerary. The policy is the same for a 3-Night Cruise as is a 15-Night cruise. I would prefer that it was a sliding scale based on duration of the itinerary. BradyBzLyn...Mo

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
2 questions... How does this stack up to current alcohol policies on other cruise lines? What in the great wide world is powdered alcohol??
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
It is pretty similar for those lines that allow alcohol but they tend to be less than disney. The other thing those shops have hat is lacking on Disney is drink packages.

But still no help to me I am a bourbon man. I don't like wine. Beer is ok but I prefer the hard stuff.

Might be time to bring the old binoculars out of storage and use them for "bird watching" while on the cruises. http://www.amazon.com/Double-Sided-Binocular-Flask-Binoculars/dp/B0021X2WQY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1439830085&sr=8-1&keywords=binocular+flasks Best Regards,Norm
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Royal Caribbean allows 2 bottles of wine only per cabin. However, they do not have a corkage fee.

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
This is per guest, so a couple could bring on 4 bottles of wine or two six packs of beer. Do they still allow extra soda to be brought on board? Even though they have free soda upstairs, it's still a lot more convenient to have it in your fridge in your cabin. caveat lector 181
I'm betting they are changing the policy due to folks taking OVER advantage. It's a bummer as it certainly was one of the niceties
