Momof6....aka Marty 769
(According to Wikipedia,) "the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is an international living history group with the aim of studying and recreating mainly Medieval European cultures and their histories before the 17th century." What they do is also known as live action role playing. Every year, they gather in in a very large field in Pennsylvania for a "battle" known as the Pennsic Wars. This lasts for 17 days. This is someone's temporary shelter for those 17 days. Think we could set up something like this at The Fort? https://www.facebook.com/christopher.gilman.5/videos/10153167937337861/?fref=nf BradyBzLyn...Mo
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
That's awesome. SCA has been around a long time and has done gatherings and events up this way too. Not sure if any have been this elaborate! Oh but I'm pretty sure the "igloo" company wasn't around in the 17th century.

lightbikes 73
Mediaval reenactments are amazing - there's even companies that specialize is making all the clothing completely accurately. Some friends of ours got into it a number of years ago and it is also EXPENSIVE!!!!
DramaMama .......... Janet 75
Thrill has a friend from college who is big in SCA. He and his wife and kids all dress the part and go under different names for all these gigs. The guy makes his own chain mail (sp) and fights in the battles. I think he was on the American team and went to international competition a year of so ago. Pretty intense stuff.
