Beckers 1,136
My parents decided they wanted to eat at California Grill in Oct, couldn't find any adrs so after searching a ton I looked into Disney Dining Scout. Cost $3.99 for 6 months, I put in the date, place, time and # of people at 4pm yesterday and by 9:30 this morning received a text messages there was a adr available. Logged right on to MDE and was able to book it. So I would say it was worth the $3.99 to keep myself from obsessively search for them. BradyBzLyn...Mo

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
$3.99 for 6 month of service (vs being charged per reservation) sounds pretty reasonable to me! Thanks for the info. :)
Beckers 1,136
The $3.99 comes with 4 searches in the 6 month period , I just emailed them for clarification of what exactly is "a search". I think it means I can have 4 searches going on at once. Will report Back when I hear more. BradyBzLyn...Mo
Beckers 1,136
Already got an email back.It is 4 active searches at any given time. So you add/modify/delete searches as long as you don't exceed 4 at a time. BradyBzLyn...Mo

twiceblessed....nacole 433
Is this a new service? I've never heard of it....
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
Why didn't they just ask their travel agent who provides this service? ;-)
shoreline99 137
I second this review. Paid my $4 on Saturday and put in a couple of searches; just got a text that a reservation at the California Grill opened up on the night I wanted it for our October trip. Logged in to MDE and booked it. Boom. BradyBzLyn...Mo
Timsmith7 36
Why didn't they just ask their travel agent who provides this service? ;-)Jason, do you have a program similar to the one described or do you have to constantly keep checking? Just curious is all....

Just curious is all.... I am checking pretty consistently. I have an option to sign up for the service at a TA discount but do not use it.

Travisma 1,317
While it sounds good for the people that sign up for the service, it seems like it's just another roadblock for the average Joe that's trying to have a good time at WDW. I wonder if these services are hitting the Disney reservation servers so hard that they are causing them to give out the "sorry service is not available at this time" message? I'd be surprised if they're generating that much traffic. Most of the time when the website it wonky, it's on a day that something has opened up for booking - free dining, food & wine, reservations for some new thing, etc.

Good question! Depends on who's running the show. It would be a much bigger investment in programming and $ to set up a system to automate something like this. But you just gave me an idea for my retirement plan.
