Momoffive aka Loretta 34
Small world. DH graduated from Lehigh with his Masters. We both went to DeSales for under grad on the "other" side of the mountain. Used to frequent the Tally Ho on occassion and another bar a few blocks down can't remember the name of that one. I consider Bethlehem home and get that warm and fuzzy feel when ever we go back. Have you been back any time in the last couple of years? It has changed quite a bit. Tearing down a lot of the Steel and they have been transforming it into a a big commercial outlet including a Casino. We haven't stopped in Bethelehem in a long time always stay in Allentown with family and then we are stuck don't get out much once we get to the family's house. LOL. We'll have lots to talk about in October then!!

campingmommy aka Kelli 7
Well, after hearing all about Atlanta...we'll stick to the I-95 route! With having to stop several times with the kids and a dog, you just never know when we'll make it somewhere!

I'd love to go back for a visit, but then again, it wouldn't be the same, would it? Can't wait to see you at the Fort!
mrstnbob 39
Funny Momoffive and MomofsixinSC both with ties to Allentown Pa. Maybe of we can get a GG at Knoebels (J&D campground) you both could make it. Have either of you been to Knoebels?
Momoffive aka Loretta 34
We have always "planned" a trip to Knobles but never made it. We moved away when the babies were just 3 and now when we go back we always seem so rushed to visit everyone. We are headed back up North in June for my nephews graduation and my parents just sold their house today....No place to sleep w 5 kids. I may have to find a camp ground somewhere.. ooh that may not be a bad idea but there are none at least on the NJ leg, may get to try for the PA half. The place I really want to take them is Hershey. Maybe next year.Marty, We were probably in College the same time. I graduated in '93. DH finished with his Masters in Chem from Lehigh in '94 or '95. Were you ever in the Ho when Senatra guy was there? He would put like $100 in the juke box and play NOTHING BUT Sinatra all night. Thought we would die those nights! Oh brings back memories! Damn I'm old too!

These days, traveling far from SC is hard in camping season, as dh does organic lawncare and needs to be close to home all week.
Grumpy and Grandma 740
We use I-75 throught Atlanta regularly when going to the Fort. Maybe we're bad but I also use the HOV lane with th MH, have seen others doing it as well. Passed police numerous times never been told to move over. It only says 2 or more peope and no trucks, nothing about trailers. I've actually seen landscapers and others with trailers in that lane as well with 2 people in the cab. I also agree you need to avoid the rush hour periods, which we usually do.
beccaewert 10
I actually like driving thru Atlanta (as long as it isn't rush hour, holidays, or sporting events :rofl2:) I think the big city is purty lit up at night!
Cyberdeb 7
For us it depends on when we leave, if we leave in the o dark thirty time( early am) we go right down 95, if later in the day with a stop for the night we will take 301 down to 95. Most of the time from there it's right down 95 to Rt 4 We take the same route from outside of Philadelphia.
