Just planning it all out must have taken ages.

I have a bunch of Harry Potter Lego sets that I put together at our camp in Maine, including a couple of the big castle sets.  I know how long those took and that was a kit with instructions!  I'm actually about to take them all apart as we're clearing out the camp to sell.  I wonder how long they'll take to put together the 2nd time around?  LOL

A lot longer, considering when you get the bigger kits, every few steps pieces are bagged together, done with step twelve bag A, move to step 13 bag B...

Yep! My plan is to at least sort the similar pieces into ziplocs to make them easier to find later.

We bough a huge, huge bin of mixed Legos and it had a ton of instruction books. So Adam and I figured we would separate everything by color so we could build the sets easier. It took hours, probably about 6 to get it done. It was pure hell.

Been there, done that.  We got lots of mini-figs with it also.

Did you have the brick sorter system?

Right after we bought the bin of Legos, we were at a Goodwill and they had the sorting system trays for $2 or $3 dollars.

It's a series of trays going from large square holes to smaller ones.  Drop the bricks in the top and shake and it sorts by sizes.

Does a pretty good job.

Is that the one that looks like the big yellow Lego head?  We saw that at Target.  Looked cool.

I would settle for them not being all over the floor....
