Kelly I think I will prefer to walk especially the week of Halloween. LOL. Yes I am getting used to the truck. The only issue I am having is a very bouncy ride even not towing. I am going to look at replacing the shocks. I expect this to feel like a truck but I am talking to people on the phone while driving and they have a hard time understanding me. Now if I can get NaCole to slow down on spending the money on so much camping that I can buy shocks :).

Yes... we're having a lot of fun :)

I think it's a great color, just not for a truck :D Go Vols!

To me, a buyback is the same thing as a lemon. Will they disclose the reason for the buyback? Also, if it is a buyback, it probably will decrease its resell value. Just a thought. For GMC, I have not

Hmmmm... I don't think Jason's truck is bouncey and it's older, so maybe something is up.

And Go Dawgs!

I was at a Postal Technical school years ago in Norman OK.  The instructor used to work for an oil company in the field and had gotten laid off during the big bust.

He told us that they were working on some huge piece of equipment out at a drilling site, and this bus full of people came barreling up to the job site.

Everyone piled out and ran over and started looking over this giant piece of machinery.  Of course all the workers were wondering what was going on.

They asked the escort who were all these people swarming all over the machine.  Guy explained these were a lot of the engineers that designed the various pieces of the machine, and they had never seen one put together!  Their groups worked independently of each other and had no idea what they were really designing and what it was going to be doing once it was totally assembled.

The workers then understood why it was so hard to keep the equipment running and so hard to repair.

That's why frame members are in the way of an oil filter, and a fender well needs to be bent out so an alternator will clear.

No communication.

That's scary.  Now that I'm in the IT field for the last several years, the same can be said of programmers.  They're just like car engineers.  :)

Hey I was a software engineer for close to 30 years (EE before that) and I believe I was nothing like a car engineer.  :raspberry:

I replaced the shocks on my Ford and made a good bit of difference in the ride.

Also - check the tire pressures and see where they are. If they are set to max pressure (of the tire, not the sticker on the truck) you can likely get a better ride by adjusting the air pressure.

Sorry Todd...just saw this. Tires are new, but I'll definitely check the pressure. What brand of shocks did you go with? Tom us debating between the Bolsters and Rancho 9000.

I went with Bilsteins for mine and happy with the decision. I'm not sure of the model, but I know they are nothing fancy...just a good ol' yellow Bilstein shock.

Haha... just noticed the auto correct on my post (I was typing on my phone); I had actually typed Bilstein not Bolsters... :)

Thanks for the feedback!

Yep, Bilsteins on my last F250 and made the ride less rigid, and boy are they a bright yellow, with blue boots if I recall. One of my buddies runs his tire pressure about 20 pounds less when not towing and then airs up each time he tows, for what its worth.

I have the 2008 super duty fx4 and it had blown factory rancho 9000 on it and I replaced with same, much better ride. Although when unloaded on shoddy concrete I get a light front to back bounce that a softer shock may soak up.

So do you miss the Dodge or are you loving the ford?

Thanks, and as a bonus, I will have heat on my way to work in the winter. You wouldn't believe how slow that 24v was to warm up-cardboard and all.

My v10 work truck heats up very quick in the winter. It also has very cold a/c at idle for a gas truck.

I've had ford, chevy  and dodge trucks, I prefer my 2011 crew cab dodge 2500 diesel with the 6.7 Cummins. Just towed my 39ft columbus 5'er to vegas from east texas and it did not miss a beat.

Good to hear. I would like a mega cab but my 6.7 ford does such a good job towing our camper I am scared to switch .

I sure miss my 2500 Diesel for towing but don't miss the rattles, bangs and booms of an American truck. I have to figure out how to beef up my suspension on the Tundra but man do I love this truck
