Large truck & 5th wheel, thanks Hopefully you'll get the "local perspective" on roads there, but in my experience I think you'll be fine with the following route: 65 North to the William Natcher ParkwayTake the Natcher Parkway to US 231 / US 60 near Owensboro, heading northFollow US 231 north into Indiana, and exit at W. Christmas Blvd. Turn right, heading east and it'll take you right to Lake Rudolph. All those roads are good and should be easy for your truck....unless there is some construction or something I'm not aware of.

dblr....Rennie 224
Ok remember I am from the north east and have driven in and around the New York City area before and when you hear the word " Parkway" and drive a truck the brain automatically goes to :panic: so down south can I assume you can drive a truck on a road with parkway in it? Kentucky has a network of "parkways" that are pretty much interstate grade highways. They're not like the foofy roads in NY that Robert Moses designed to connect the city folks with nature....blah blah blah.

You don't have to be from the N.E. to panic over having to drive on NY parkways.
dblr....Rennie 224
Ok so due to a schedule change and the need to be in Goshen Indiana earlier then expected we now have to skip our stop at Holiday World, maybe next time, thanks for all the help.
beccaewert 10
Sorry I was on a missions trip the past 2 weeks to the country of Haiti. I just got home this morning at 1 am--- let me go back and get caught up and then I can add a new update Sorry for the delay I didn't have internet in Haiti :)Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
okgirlie...Brandy 6
The campground and park looks like a lot of fun. One of my good friends moved to Indianapolis a couple summers ago. If we ever get a chance to visit her we'll have to camp and go there. Looking forward to reading more
beccaewert 10
Ok sorry for the long delay- back to the report We shall start in there "lazy river" known as Bahari River. Out of all there water rides- in my opinion this lazy river sucks--- it's very short, and always crowded--- compared to Disney ones it's lacking a lot of luster. It makes me feel like a giant bathtub with 1.000+ kids,.... Ok maybe not 1,000 but more like 999Over-viewUpclose-- there is no shade - for those looking to relax a bit Next on the tour is one of there wave pools--- it is the newest, larger & better "wave" pool. It's called Bahari Wave PoolIt's got a Tiki head- Trader Joes feelingNext on the list is Hyena Falls,... These are personal tube rides 1 or 2 riders,... You carry the tube up the short walk,.... It's not that bad compared to some waterparks,.... But my boys loved these slides the best out of all the personal slides,.... The 3 normal slides are Giggles, Chuckles, Tee-Hee,..... But there favorite one is "Laughs", it's got a pretty fun drop This next ride my boys call the Toilet Bowl Slide,... Or as Holiday World calls it "Bakuli"It's seats 4 people on one tube- just a hint as you get to the top of the stairs, you have an option to go right or left-- choose right it's a smaller line at the top,....Here's the Toilet Bowl viewNext my boys love to race on these,.... It's the Jungle Racers,.... I'm always "last" bc I have to help my littlest one get pushed off,... But I always go the furthest bc I way double what my scrawny lil guys do,.... Obviously the heavier you are, the faster and furthest you go,.... This next water ride is my personal favorite- the Mammoth water coaster,... It currently holds the title of the longest water coaster,...You don't want to ride this if you do not want to get drenched,... I mean absolutely soaked! It seats 6 people,... But everyone has to be under 1.050 lbs-- they actually have your group stand on a scale--- don't worry no one sees the numbers--- it just has a red light of you don't weigh enough or if you weigh too much or green light of your good to go! I'll continue on the next post,....Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
beccaewert 10
Here's a youtube video of Mammoth ride.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPDJ5bfz1MQ if you watch it.....you can see that the family's dry hair,...is now SOAKED.....
beccaewert 10
The next set of personal slides that you can do 1 or 2 riders is the Otorongo,.... They are all black slides- so you have the darkness,... But they are very short slides and the thrill doesn't last too longThe Watubee is a chill family raft ride,... It seats 4 in a circular tube--- it's honestly is comparable to the ones at Disney- not too scary for the little ridersThis next ride my kids call the funnel-cake ride--- also knows as the ZingaIt seats 4 people alsoThe Zoombabwe is another 4 person tube,... It's a long purple slide that is dark inside except for the glowing Tiki heads,.... It's a fun one tooOur 2nd favorite water ride at the park is the Wildebeest,... It's another water coaster,....You get in a 4 person boat- but it's shaped like a canoeYou can get some "air" on this ride,... Especially if you have the heaviest rider in the backSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
beccaewert 10
Here is a YOUTUBE POV of the ride https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lPxQIwDke9Q This water coaster, is now the 2nd longest water coaster, following the Mammoth
beccaewert 10
To finish up this report,....Here are the kiddie portions of the parkThe WaveIt's a smaller less intense wave poolHyena SpringsIf the big kids want to ride Hyena falls and you have a smaller one there's a splash pad over by the slides so you can keep an eye on all agesKima BayThis area is on the backside of the park and it has some fun slides for all ages-- there are some height restrictions on some of he slides in this areaMonsoon LagoonThis splash area is less intense than Kima Bay and is better suited for the small onesFor the lil ones that want to slide,... Safari Sams Splashland is perfect for them to feel "big" even if they aren't quite big enough yetSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DaveInTN 3,247
You make me want to go back. We have ridden the Wildebeast....but Mammoth was not built the last time we visited. Looks great!
beccaewert 10
The mammoth hands down is the best water ride there! I highly recommend going Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DaveInTN 3,247
I think your report has helped convince me we need to return there next year. After we finish enjoying our Dollywood season passes this year, 2016 might be the year of Holiday World. Then....2017, back to Dollywood? Anywhere but WDW....
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Looks like a great water park!
Littleolwoman.aka.Kristie 119
I can't believe I have never been. Definitely putting this down as a trip fff or next summer. Are there better/ slower times to go than others?

Littleolwoman.aka.Kristie 119
Thanks Dave. Maybe we will get lucky and run into you there. Totally off subject but how is Anna's speech? Bethanie is still not talking much. She signs but her thoughts go way beyond what she can sign. She is only three but her muscle tone is similar to that of a DS blessing.
