beccaewert 10
Alright- back to the trip reportI forgot to add to the last post a picture of the new splash pad for the kiddos-- for those curiousApparently I didn't get a pic of it,... So I stole it from there website,... Here is a picture of there poolHere is a couple photos of the new play ground equipment they just installed the smaller one is located right outside the pool and Blitzens kitchen The larger playground is located at the front of the campground by the old store, putt-putt and full size basketball courtApparently the fall is a very busy time for this campground- I talked to some of the staff and they said it's hard to get reservations sometimes bc they book full for there Halloween/Fall weekends,... The gatekeeper that spoke with said that the entire atmosphere of the campground changes and everyone really gets into itAlso from Thanksgiving to end of December they do there own version of "Osbornes Festival of Lights"--- they don't call it that,... But it's similarThey also offer several things for free for the campers to use: basketballs, volleyballs, putt-putt,.... I'm not sure if the paddle boats & canoes have a rental fee or not? But it is available to do If you look in the background of the last picture you'll see the "Raven" wooden rollercoaster on the other side of the lake--- here's a closer pic Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

beccaewert 10
Here is a park map,... As you can see there are a lot of things to do here! When we visited the park hours were 10 park open, 11 waterpark open- 6 waterpark closes, 7 whole park closesSo once the park closes there isn't a lot to do in this city-- this is why I love camping right next door,... We just head back to the camper, make some dinner and RELAX! When we are at Disney we always go go go- bc we feel like we have to fill every moment with EMH in the evening rope drops in the morning--- we just get plum tired---- but here when they close up shop, ya don't got much else to do, lolHere's the park entranceYou have your 3 Wooden coasters at Holiday World- The Raven, The Legend, The Voayge and they just opened the first winged rollercoaster The ThunderbirdFirst rollercoaster on the right is The Raven,... It's the original wooden coaster that they have,... It sure beats the snot out of ya--- this is the coaster that butts up to the lake at the campgroundThe Legend is located in the Halloween section of the parkApparently this was the first coaster to do a spiral drop,... That's what it's known forThen The Voyage is located in the Thanksgiving section of the parkIt's the 3rd longest wooden rollercoaster in the world It's got a pretty wicked steep first drop -- the view is kinda neat when your up there! Then at the end of the Thanksgiving section of the park is the new rollercoaster the Thunderbird. Here you can see how the rollercoaster kinda entertwines with the Voyage coasterMy oldest road this with me--- it is a smooth rollercoaster,.. It's really a short ride 1 min long- but it was a blastHere we are getting ready to launch 0-60mph in 3 secondsThey have other rides that are unique like there Hallo-Swings,... Which actually is like your typically "swings" ride but it lifts you into the air 40ft and goes about 11mph,... My oldest was finally talk enough this trip to ride it,... And he loved it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
beccaewert 10
Here are some other ridesUp next - my favorite portion of the park--- the waterpark!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Littleolwoman.aka.Kristie 119
Rides look great although I am not a coaster gal. Bring on the waterpark!!!
DaveInTN 3,247
I LOVE the Raven! That's one of my favorite coasters anywhere. And the Legend is cool too. But I rode the Voyage once and it jiggled my brain inside my head so much that I didn't feel right the rest of the day. If I remember right, it's sort of a hybrid wooden/steel coaster...it has the speed, drops and G's of a steel coaster and the shaking and jarring of a wooden one. Ouch. dblr....Rennie 224
Looks like we just added this place as one of our stops this summer between Nashville then on to Goshen In. We were there about 5 years ago so time for a refresher trip.
keith_h 420
Looks like a fun place to spend a day. Will have to remember this for a detour on our next tip to Chicago to see the DW's family.
