GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Very sad. Why don't ships have lifeguards? Does Disney?
h2odivers...Ray 952
So sad. How did this happen? We've been on dozens of cruises and I have never been seen a cruise ship swimming pool without dozens of kids in it in the middle of the afternoon. God please bless her little soul. Katman1356...Jason 1,140
Very sad. Why don't ships have lifeguards? Does Disney? I believe Disney does now have life guards due to an incident on one of their ships a year or so ago.

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
While this totally saddens me, and I while I do feel sorry for the family, I'm gonna be the first to say it. What parent in her or his right mind sends a ten year old child off unsupervised? Is this the fault of the cruise line? Absolutely not.

I haven't read more than the article linked, but those cruise pools get soooooo crowded that they seem dangerous to me.

I haven't read more than the article linked, but those cruise pools get soooooo crowded that they seem dangerous to me.I have a friend who was at a neighborhood pool with her children. She was was keeping an eye on her children and noticed her son showing signs of drowning. She jumped in and saved him. Oh yeah she was pregnant too. Luckily she knew the signs for drowning. Sadly most people don't. It is possible that the parents and others were nearby and just did not know she was drowning.
Beckers 1,136
Yvonne I was going to say the same thing, most people thinking drowning is a very obvious, movie like event but I've heard it looks nothing like what most people think it does.
