BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Parks Blog... Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar to Open this Fall at Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resortposted on May 12th, 2015 by Darcy Clark, Marketing Manager, Downtown Disney at Walt Disney World Resort Tucked in between the soon-to-be-expanded Paradiso 37 and recently opened BOATHOUSE restaurant, a new Disney owned and operated Food & Beverage offering has been taking shape. Today, I’m thrilled to share more details on this aviation-themed lounge, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar. With a prime location along Lake Buena Vista and seating for 150, the venue will feature unique cocktails – such as the “Hovito Mojito” with Barsol Quebranta Pisco, fresh lime juice and simple syrup – and small plates such as “Air Pirates Everything Pretzels” with house-made mustard and beer cheese fondue. The design team has gone to great lengths to ensure that every element – from the propeller-based ceiling fans and diving bell “booth” to the “Rolling Boulder Meatballs” on the menu – fits within the storyline. And just what is that story? Ardent fans of the “Indiana Jones” films may recognize Jock Lindsey as Indy’s frequent pilot; he’s also the owner of a pet snake named Reggie – an important detail, trust me on this! In the main room, guests will discover an expansive bar, aviation decor filling the room, vintage travel posters covering the walls and correspondence between Jock, Indy and their fellow adventurers on display. Guests can eat, drink and be merry outside as well, in Jocks’ old steamboat, now in permanent dry dock and aptly named “Reggie;” and in nearby seating on the adjacent deck. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is set to open this fall at Downtown Disney. http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/05/jock-lindseys-hangar-bar-to-open-this-fall-at-downtown-disney-at-walt-disney-worldresort/

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
So, does anybody have a recent layout map? I can kindof picture where this is going to be, but everything is so clustered right now, it's hard to tell. Is the old Adventurer's Club/BET building still there? BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
A preview of some of the menu items that will be offered at Jock's Hangar Bar from the Disney Parks Blog... More Delicious Details for Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, Opening This Fall at Downtown Disneyposted on August 11th, 2015 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer With an aviation theme (Jock was Indy’s frequent pilot in the “Indiana Jones” films) and a primo waterfront location, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will feature food and drinks inspired by Jock’s globe-trotting to all continents – everything from a Hovito Mojito to Dr. Elsa’s She-Deviled Eggs. Details follow. Guests will get a kick out of the salvaged equipment, spare airplane parts and mementos from Jock’s travels that decorate the 150-seat lounge located between Paradiso 37 and The BOATHOUSE restaurant. Outdoors, his old steamboat (now in dry dock) is a fun place for watching the sunset. At the core of Walt Disney Imagineering is great storytelling: as the tale goes, Jock made a home at this waterfront property in the 1940s after discovering this charming little town while flying Indiana Jones over the Sunshine State in search of the elusive Fountain of Youth in 1938. As a member of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers, Jock often welcomed his globetrotting friends to his hangar for a drink and fun times. Now Jock and Indy may be gone, but his legendary adventures live on at this exotic watering hole. And that’s what gives the place its charm – and a creative menu of adventurous tastes. Along with beer and wine, start with clever cocktails such as Reggie’s Revenge and The Fountain of Youth featuring Florida vodkas; Hovito Mojito and The Bitter Barkeep with Peruvian Pisco; Anything Goes with an Asian spirit that packs a little heat; The Aviator’s Flight and The Scottish Professor, and that Cool-headed Monkey with African spirits. Each of the small plates has a delicious twist, and they’re great for sharing. Dr. Elsa’s She-Deviled Eggs are brined in beet juice with lump crab filling. “Good” Dates feature goat cheese-stuffed dates with Marcona almonds and pickled veggies. Snack of Ra gives a taste of Africa with salads and dips served with injera (bread) and naan crisps. Tanis Tacos are filled with falafel, shredded lettuce and cucumber-tomato salad. The pretzels come with house-made mustard and beer-cheese fondue. A little more substantial are the Rolling Boulder Sliders with three spice meatballs on mini-buns with yogurt sauce. Or Brody Brats, grilled bratwurst with mustard and pickled cabbage. Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar’s take on chicken wings features spicy Asian wings (called “Lao Che’s Revenge”). And “Squid! Why’d It Have to Be Squid” is fried calamari flatbread with spicy harissa. Get ready for some very fun Disney moments at this new location coming to Downtown Disney! http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2015/08/more-delicious-details-for-jock-lindseys-hangar-bar-opening-this-fall-at-downtowndisney/
DaveInTN 3,247
So, does anybody have a recent layout map? I can kindof picture where this is going to be, but everything is so clustered right now, it's hard to tell. It is directly across from Raglan Road. If you know where the Boathouse is....it is immediately to the left of that when looking at the Boathouse. There is a little stage area with live music between the two places along the water. shoreline99 137
Seriously? Cool. We're staying at the boardwalk this trip and that's on our list to check out. We've only been to the brew pub there before and have been underwhelmed. We went to the dance hall one night back when the Boardwalk first opened ('96 maybe?) and they were still having shows there, but I don't know what they have for entertainment there now. It's a dueling piano bar. Like Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans. The key to having fun is to drink, and get in to the music. The piano players are entertainers, and know how to play to the crowd. We have been several times. Every time is a bit different, but has always been fun. TCD
shoreline99 137
I've been to Pat's, that's a fun place. Jellyrolls is officially on the list of fun. So is Jock Strap's hangar bar. Will report back on both.

I just read it as Jock Lindsey's Hangover bar. I guess depending on who's visiting it could be. BradyBzLyn...Mo and keith_h
