Starbuc71 162
I guess you have to commend Disney for trying to do more than one project at once, but every direction you turn in the park there are plywood walls with something being worked on. And the same walls have been up for months, and some going on a year. Here is what I saw yesterday:1. Walls up by first gift shop as you enter Discovery island2.walls up across from safari and next to entrance of planet watch3. Walls up as you leave Africa twords Asia on left side4. Walls up along Asia across from EE all th way to the nemo show5. Massive amount of walls encasing all of flame tree BBQAs most of you may know, we really don't care for this park. If it were not for EE, we would skip it all together. Even the kids are now board with the safari. I feel bad for the people who spend the money on a single day ticket to go here especially with everything blocked off. If you want the Africa experience, drive an hour and a half west and enjoy Busch Gardens at a cheaper price and a better park
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
When you're right, you're right. Did y'all arrive by bus? What about that great big construction project (Avatarland) right there in the open as you pull up to the bus stops? That really sets the mood. TCD
Starbuc71 162
Yeah, I was shocked to see they were not trying to cover that like they do with everything else. Who knows what they are dong at that park.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
It will be interesting to see what happens once they finally finish with all of the construction. I think the new nighttime show and Avatarland will draw crowds. For a while, at least, AK will be the second most popular park. In the meantime, it's a big mess. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I'm excited for some of the new stuff coming to AK (even Avatarland I suppose... kind of) but I really was very surprised at all the walls up when we were there in November! "More plywood than magic" really does sum it up. And when we were there much of the Tree of Life was walled off too. And in related news, Orlando Theme Park News has just posted a ton of photos from around the park which show just how much really is under construction right now...http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2015/03/animal-kingdom-update-new-pathway-in_57.html

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
A big photo update on all the Animal Kingdom construction, including AVATAR land...http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2015/07/animal-kingdom-avatar-land-discovery.html Animal Kingdom: AVATAR Land, Discovery Island Updates Wednesday, July 29, 2015 | Posted by OTPN Administrator Due to the ever-increasing number of projects taking place inside the park, the OTPN Team has decided to start posting multiple photo-updates focusing on just one or two themed areas of Animal Kingdom to avoid posting too many photos at once, slowing down some devices. This evening, we will focus on Discovery Island, which is currently one of Animal Kingdom's busiest themed lands, thanks to the large amount of work taking place in this particular area.
