Anyone want to give input on my *REVISED* touring plans?

Recommended Posts

NOTE:  I revised my second park day and would love input on it.  The new plan is in post #15. http://www.fortfiends.net/forum/topic/14982-anyone-want-to-give-input-on-my-revised-touring-plans/?p=433000

As I have mentioned in other threads, my 19yo and I are going to WDW for a mom/daughter get-away.  We are staying at All Star Music because it is cheaper than staying at FW and renting a camper.  We are getting 2 day hoppers, so I want to get the most "bang for our buck" (or 500 plus bucks!!).  We are reserving our FP+ Thursday night/Friday morning, so any feedback would be appreciated!

On 4/29, we are planning to go to MK.  Here is the plan for that day:

6:30am wake-up call.
Leave room at ASMu at 7:30.
Outside the gates to the Magic Kingdom, on far left, to right of store.  Get Cinderella squished penny for 8yo.
1. Enjoy Main Street, possibly ride a Main Street vehicle: 9am – 9:10am (Walk through castle)
2. Ride Peter Pan’s Flight: 9:15am – 9:25am
3. Ride Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with FastPass+: 9:27am – 9:40am
4. Ride It’s a Small World: 9:55am – 10:15am
5. Ride Haunted Mansion: 10:17am – 10:40am
6. Ride Splash Mountain (Front Seats!): 10:50am – 11:10am
7. Ride Pirates of the Caribbean with FastPass+: 11:15am – 11:35am
9. See Enchanted Tiki Room: 11:45pm – 12:05pm
10. Have lunch: Waffles from Sleepy Hollow in Liberty Square
11. Ride Space Mountain with FastPass+: 1:05pm – 1:30pm
12. Visit Stitch’s Great Escape FP+ kiosk and select Buzz Lightyear that includes 2:10pm
13. Ride Stitch’s Great Escape: 1:40pm – 2:05pm
14. Ride Buzz Lightyear with FastPass+: 2:10pm – 2:25pm
15. Visit Stitch’s Great Escape FastPass+ kiosk and select It’s a Small World that includes 3:45pm (If too busy in AM))
16. See Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade from Frontierland: 2:40pm – 3:15pm
17. Ride People Mover while figuring out the rest of the day.

Our other park day is 5/1, which is a Friday.  We plan to spend the morning at DHS, following a touring plan, then hop to Epcot with no structure other than our ADR at Rose and Crown.  That day looks like this:

6:30am wake-up call.
Leave room at ASMu at 7:30
1. Ride Toy Story Mania: 9am – 9:20am
2. Ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: 9:30am – 9:50am
3. Ride Tower of Terror with FastPass+: 9:52am – 10:10am
4. See Voyage of the Little Mermaid: 10:20am – 10:40am (10:25am show)
5. Ride Toy Story Mania with FastPass+: 10:45am – 11:05am
6. See the Frozen Sing-Along with FastPass+: 11:15am – 12pm (11:30am show)
7. See Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular 12:10pm – 1:00pm (12:30p show)
8. Enjoy Hollywood Blvd. And Sunset Blvd.
9. Get Baymax cupcake or Carrot Cake Cookie
10. Hop to Epcot (boat ride?)
11. Check for FP+ at FP+ kiosk by International Gate

Things we would like to do at Epcot (open until 11pm incl. EMH):
Soarin’
Sum of all Thrills
Meet Mickey and Pals
The Seas Exhibit
ADR at Rose and Crown
Illuminations
Living with the Land
Spaceship Earth
Meet Alladin & Jasmine
Meet Belle
Meet Pooh and hug him

So, other than thinking I am a hyper-planner and a bit neurotic, what do you think?  See any spots where I am criss-crossing parks too much?  Any spots where the times don't make sense?

OMG!!!

That's some schedule.

Since I'm not a planner I can't really be any help but I do have a question or two.

What happens if the lines are longer than you planned?

What's your back up plan?

When are going to take a potty break?

Is this a guide line or a strict schedule?

What if you want to just sit and relax for a while?

Ok so serious feedback...

On your MK day, the only extra criss-crossy thing I see is heading from Tomorrowland to Frontierland for the parade.  Since you'll have done a bunch of walking by then, maybe have a backup plan on the Tomorrowland/hub side in case you don't feel like walking across the park?

At Epcot, I think character meets & greets may dictate timing, but try and plot out your meandering in as direct a route as you can.  The miles add up fast when you find yourself going around World Showcase for the 3rd (or 4th) time.  8)

I'd save Soarin for the end of the night unless you're able to snag a FP+ for it.  If it were me I'd plan to hop in line right before park close, then wait out the exit crowds and take your time leaving.

There are not enough Fort plans on that list....

The plan at this point is to check out of ASMu Saturday morning and drive over to the Fort.  Mo and Nicole have offered to let us stay with them in the camper they are renting, so we plan to enjoy the Fort and the Wild Womenz until Monday.

I think that looks good. I'd get in line for Soarin at 10:55 PM.

I will note that on my plans!  Thank you!

You're riding Stitch?

My kids rode it on our last trip and actually really enjoyed it.  Since my dear, wonderful daughter is paying for this trip, I will happily ride Stitch with her.  I plan to have a hankie with perfume on it in my bag to refresh my poor nose afterwards.

OMG!!!

That's some schedule.

Since I'm not a planner I can't really be any help but I do have a question or two.

What happens if the lines are longer than you planned? Then we miss some things along the way and decide whether to hit them later or "Let it Go!"

What's your back up plan? Relax and have fun, because I am at Dinney Worl!!!

When are going to take a potty break? Potty breaks for 2 people don't have to be planned like they do for 7 people.  However, on my cheat sheet that i will be carrying will be a list of the best restrooms in each park.

Is this a guide line or a strict schedule? Definitely more of a guideline!

What if you want to just sit and relax for a while? Then we will do it!

Thank you for the feedback - that goes for everyone, not just Mo.

I have changed my plan to watching the parade from the Hub.

I am hoping to do the Character Meet and Greets after 10pm, then head over to Soarin'.

My plan is to only wander around the WS once.  If sweet Sarah wishes to backtrack for something, I will buy a drink and find a bench.  :wine:

Okay, I just completely revised our second park day.  I realized that Sarah doesn't want to ride ToT and we don't really want to ride TSMM twice, so why have FP+ at DHS at all?  I am sure we can do the Frozen Sing-Along using the stand-by line.

So, instead i will use our FP+ at Epcot, which that part of our day needs a little more structure.  I changed my ADR to later so we can spend more time in Future World when we first get to Epcot.  I still want to ride the boat there and come in the International Gate, but will then just head to FW.

Anyway, here is how the plan now looks.

1. Ride Toy Story Mania: 9am – 9:20am
2. Ride Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster: 9:30am – 9:50am
3. See Little Mermaid: 9:55am – 10:15am (10:00am show)
4. Get Baymax cupcake or Carrot Cake Cookie and some Starbucks: 9:55am – 10:15am
5. Enjoy Hollywood Blvd. And Sunset Blvd.: 10:15am – 11:05am
6. See the Frozen Sing-Along: 11:15am – 12pm (11:30am show)
12. See Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular 12:10pm – 1:00pm (12:30p show)
13. Hop to Epcot 2:00ish???
14. Ride Soarin’ with Fastpass+: 3:00pm – 3:20pm
15. Ride Living with the Land: 3:35pm – 4:05pm
16. Go to Character Spot with Fastpass+: 4:10pm – 4:40pm
17. Explore Living Seas exhibit: 4:45pm – 5:25pm
18. Ride Spaceship Earth with Fastpass+: 5:30pm – 5:50pm
19. Ride Sum of All Thrills: 5:55pm – 6:30pm
20. Head to Canada in World Showcase
21. ADR at Rose and Crown  7:10 pm
22. Visit more of World Showcase
23. Break for Illuminations: 9:00pm
24. Visit rest of World Showcase
25. Maybe ride Test Track single rider on the way out.

PLEASE give me input because I truly value what you think.

I can confirm that you should have no problem getting into the Frozen sing-a-long without FP+.

Show up 15-20 minutes before the show time.  I recommend seats in the front section of the bleacher seating in the back center of the room, rather than the seats on the floor to the sides of the center section.

TCD

Thank you!  I put that in my plans so i don't forget. :D

Good catch.

I recommend taking out Stitch and putting in "get cream cheese pretzel from Launching Pad."  B)

Seriously... we need to try this pretzel!  :)

Oh... edited b/c I just saw that you'll be spending a couple of days with the ladies at the Fort.  HAVE FUN!!

I was totally on board with #4 in your earlier draft.  But now you've ruined it with your recent addition.   :D

Huh?  I switched Voyage of the Little mermaid (show, not ride!) from #4 to #3 because we dropped ToT.  Am I just too stressed to realize you are being snarky?  I am trying to wait until 5pm to start drinking.

I'm sorry.....#4 on the new draft, which was #9 on the previous draft.

I liked it better when it was just a cupcake and a carrot cake cookie.  Now you've added evil cartel juice.

OH!  Sorry.  That was always in there, I just editted it out when posting on here so as to not offend.  But in my hyper state today with trying to switch all my plans, not to mention change my ADR while half the world was trying to book BOG lunch ADR's, i forgot to edit it out of this draft.  My dd loves the evil cartel and I want her very happy this trip.

She would get along swimmingly with my oldest.

DIT is referring to your decision to visit that evil cartel and its symbolic satanic mermaid to get some coffee.

I know that there are no other fiends or relatives of fiends that ever patronize the evil cartel.  i feel such shame for crossing the picket line.  I promise to yell "Scab!" at my daughter as she sips her forbidden brew.
