djsamuel 322
Wow, guess we missed all of that. Either they are real good at spotting wristbands or we just missed the checkpoints, cause we walked right into the hub area around 7:45. I'm wondering if they had their plans properly set to cover all of the hub. We saw the wrist bands being checked on the Crystal Palace side. Isn't this the first party with the new hub? Time flies, so I'm not sure. I know there were many surprised cast members when they learned the party was sold out. I wonder if they staffed it properly.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I know there were many surprised cast members when they learned the party was sold out. I wonder if they staffed it properly. Its sounds like there were both staffing and training issues. I'm sure it will get better with each successive party. Disney doesn't want negative reports about these parties- they're big money makers. They're usually very vigilant about making sure only guests with wristbands are allowed in the park after 7. Travisma 1,317
Its sounds like there were both staffing and training issues. I'm sure it will get better with each successive party. Disney doesn't want negative reports about these parties- they're big money makers. They're usually very vigilant about making sure only guests with wristbands are allowed in the park after 7. TCDI know I was surprised when we pulled up to the Toll Plaza and saw the signs saying the event was sold out. Earlier in the day tickets were still available, and this was a Tuesday school night. I was reading information on "another" page, and someone asked about having dinner reservations at 6:45, and could they go out in the park afterwards. The answer was that if they didn't have bands they would be escorted out of the park. We were inside eating and came out after 7 and no one questioned us. Again, maybe they saw our bands or our special event lanyard, but we were never stopped or questioned by anyone other than at a candy line. Maybe I was just oblivious to everything going on around us and maybe they really were checking bands. Question, what are the people walking around with the wooden ghosts on a stick with a light shining on them?
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Question, what are the people walking around with the wooden ghosts on a stick with a light shining on them? Those are the wristband checkers! They travel around in groups with those signs right at 7 looking for guests without wristbands and telling the to hit the road. They probably did check you out and saw that you had wristbands (or did y'all just have those special credentials?) and let you go. If you didn't have wristbands (or the lanyard?), they would have said something to you about needing to head toward the exit. They also have CM's on duty at the doors of the shops on Main Street- after 7, guests without wristbands are not allowed in the shops. TCD

Re: changes to the Boo To You Parade, sounds like some good additions have actually been made... New to the parade this year is the appearance of Oogie Boogie from A Nightmare Before Christmas, the Step Sisters and Dr Facilier. YENSIDCAMPER 66
That's great, Eric. I won't be in town that weekend- we are flying out to Disneyland on October 16 for a long weekend. But, I've been to many MNSSHP's- you will have a blast. My top 5 tips; 1. Get there early- you can enter the park at 4 pm. Be there a bit before then.2. You can link your MNSSHP tickets to MDE and use them to reserve FP+'s for the 4-7 time frame. Do it.3. Get a good spot for the parade. Be in place early. The Headless Horseman rides the parade route before the parade starts.4. Don't forget about the special MNSSHP SOTMK cards.5. Don't worry about the candy. The lines are always long in the first few hours of the party. After 10 pm, there won't be lines, and you can fill your bags then. TCD Thanks for tips TCD we will put them all to use. I hope you have a safe trip to Disneyland and l am looking forward to reading about it. We will be there this summer.
YENSIDCAMPER 66
This was our first visit to the party in a long long time. Things changed since our first visit back in the dark ages. Stake out a place near the castle to see the new Hocus Pocus Show. Then stay there and watch the parade. If you want the party souvenirs, they are only available at certain locations in the MK. Here's a link to what is going on at the party and recommendations for little ones http://wdwprepschool.com/guide-to-mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/ This link has images of the guide/map they hand out, with times of shows and trick or treat locations. <a data-ipb="nomediaparse" data-cke-saved-href="http://www.wdwmagic.com/events/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/news/24feb2015-mickey" href="http://www.wdwmagic.com/events/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/news/24feb2015-mickey" s-not-so-scary-halloween-party-dates-now-available.htm"="">http://www.wdwmagic.com/events/mickeys-not-so-scary-halloween-party/news/24feb2015-mickey's-not-so-scary-halloween-party-dates-now-available.htm Wow, more great info. TCDWe were in a roped off area in front of the castle between the blue tents and behind the street in front of the castle. They had a platform with two video cameras on it. One guy was instructing the other one how to get set up for the fireworks show. There was also one or two photographers taking pictures. One was a woman that was shooting photos at the party in the Hall of Prez.
momof3kids-Yvonne 596
I'm getting so excited for this. I haven't bought my tickets yet and I was hoping to do it closer to the party date (10/6) to get a better idea on what the weather will be like. Hoping I don't regret putting off buying the tickets.
