GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799 Posted February 8, 2015 Report Share Posted February 8, 2015 Valentine's Day is almost here, and I let Jason know that he didn't have to think about what romantic present he was going to surprise me with... he was going to build me a Mickey light! I looked at the plans here on Fort Fiends and ordered most of the parts online through Home Depot. I got the ABS post at Lowe's because our Home Depot doesn't carry black pipe. I also ordered a color changing (remote controlled) light on Amazon. We decided to go with the 8 inch ears. Honestly, I think the 6 inch look a little small and the 8 inch look a little big, but whatever! This is the tool for the job. Sadly, Jason's first attempt at drilling the holes was less than successful. That made me pretty sad, especially because our HD doesn't carry that globe. We decided to order 2 the next time, and Jason practiced on the busted one to figure out how to get it right. Success! So here we go with the new one.... no pressure! (And yes, it's taped up to help, at least psychologically.) He did it! Second hole And yay! We're closer! A preview Time for the glue The electrical part Jason used an old extension cord and a connector to get the post ready. Just waiting on the glue to dry! I feel better now since I'm not the only one who had their first globe turn out like this. We attempted to make our light this weekend. I guess the drill bit caught the globe wrong and it cracked into about 3 pieces. Our HD doesn't stock them either so now I'm waiting on a replacement. Quote Link to post Share on other sites

If so, where is the sensor for it? We have an Amazon color changing bulb and the sensor for the remote is inside the bulb itself and not sure how it would work with the bulb in the globe.
