Humphrey Bear…Rob 42 Posted January 30, 2015 Report Share Posted January 30, 2015 I've built a couple of the Mickey Lamp posts now and was thinking about trying it as a hanging type light - like from the end of your awning. I have looked at the 12 and 16 inch globes with the "lips" and wondered if it might work to put the ears on each side of the lipped end , place some chain or something to hang and then use string lights or even solar powered lights to go in the top of the head. I see. So, the big globe would be upside down, and the ears would still be pointing up, but attached to what is normally the bottom of the globe. We need it to be weather resistant, so I need to head to the shop and contemplate. Lets see what I come up with. The one I have has a black lamp fitting, so it may need painting. That's why the ears look off color.Had a lot more photos but wanted the detail to be good. I'll seal the cord entry with silicone and I'll get lamps of the color for the final.Enjoy all!
