Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Huh? I wish Lou would come out of hibernation to help clear up some confusion I have. I thought there weren't any Starbucks stores in the WDW parks? So, why are they selling Starbucks mugs? BTW- I recently clicked on the official Main Street Bakery menu, and had one heck of a time trying to find an actual baked item on it. Can anyone find one?: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/main-street-bakery/menus/ TCD BradyBzLyn...Mo

sherryberry 35
I really like that epcot mug. Here's the one at the Magic Kingdom, BradyBzLyn...Mo
AuburnJen 777
I like the MK mug better. IMHO of course.
ependydad...Doug 176
I'm not a Starschmucks fan, but these mugs are neat. We carry a couple of coffee mugs for coffee drinkers in the camper. We may have to pony up for new ones. :)
Retired & Tired (Judy) 90
I do not like Starbucks at all. But I would like to add those 2 mugs to my collection. They are pretty neat.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I really like that epcot mug. Here's the one at the Magic Kingdom, I think I need them both. :) I'm assuming that means there will be one for AK and HS too. Off to clean out the mug cupboard... GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
I actually like the mugs.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I'm assuming that means there will be one for AK and HS too. This site http://www.orlandoparksnews.com/2015/01/new-co-branded-starbucksdisney-parks.html posted photos of all the mugs: I like how they have images of the parks included in the artwork. Note there is no BAH on the DHS mug. The California ones are nice too, but they made their tiny castle look as big as WDW's, and much taller than the Matterhorn, which is false advertising. twiceblessed....nacole 433
I would probably buy them... if I could get a full set (all 4 WDW parks).

I am so making room for these in the cupboard... well at least the 4 WDW ones.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
I wish we could turn the DHS mug around and see if Star Wars Land is on the back! BradyBzLyn...Mo
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Well, if you didn't get your Epcot mug, you may be too late. According to several sources, including News 13 in Orlando, the Epcot mugs have been pulled from the shelves. The story: Walt Disney World is pulling one of its exclusive new Starbucks coffee mugs sold at Epcot, because the mug's design includes one of Disney's monorails with a purple stripe. The controversy: Disney's Monorail Purple was involved in a deadly 2009 crash in which Monorail Pink backed into the purple train, killing its pilot, 21-year-old Austin Wuennenberg. * * * Following the 2009 crash, Walt Disney World retired both the pink and purple colors from its 12-train monorail fleet, adding Monorails Teal and Peach in their place. Disney has also since put new safety procedures and improvements in place on its monorail lines. sherryberry 35
I got my mug, but didn't even really look at it. I didn't even know there was a monorail on it! I remember the accident, but I don't think I knew what color monorails were involved.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Don't you think they're bringing more attention by pulling it?
Beckers 1,136
It makes sense to pull it.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
It actually does make sense to pull it, but once again the proofers at Disney....... FAIL!!
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
It actually does make sense to pull it, but once again the proofers at Disney....... FAIL!! And in this case it had to have gone through a bunch of levels of proofing - starting with the art director. Then again, it's entirely possible the folks in the art department weren't even aware. But somebody up the chain had to be.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
I'm just saying though.... the whole mug is in purple and blue tones, even stuff that's not that color. Was there really an uproar? Didn't someone die on Mission Space? Should they not have pictures with Mission Space in it because of that?
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I'm sure all it took is one person noticing - and probably posting it online - and it took on a life of it's own to the point that Disney didn't have a choice.
Beckers 1,136
I think the difference is the person wasn't killed on mission space, you know?
Travisma 1,317
Ebay has them listed from $150 to $2500. Personally I think it was a dumb idea to remove them. How many people remember what color socks they have on let alone the color of monorails involved in an accident years ago. Society is getting to be too overly cautious or "sensitive". Look at those parents that are getting investigated for child endangerment because they let their kids go to the park by themselves.
