Steve Parker 0
What site has the best Christmas decorations? Anyone know where the camper with the castle decoration sequenced with light and music is this year? Saw his display last year and it was great!
Grumpy and Grandma 740
Dave "The Castle Guy" posted earlier this year that he would not be there over Christmas.
The Castle Guy 36
Yep. He's taking a year off.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Welcome! There's a huge display on the 1600 loop near the main road. A bunch of Fiends are converging on the Fort as we speak. Hopefully they can chime in with some other recommendations.

I overheard him talking to some other visitors and he did not have kind words about Disney and said they're squeezing out big displays.
Retired & Tired (Judy) 90
There are a few nice displays. Our site is all decorated (1016) and a few sites in this loop are decorated but not overly done. Not many are decorating this year. It is sad....not the same as it use to be. And we have to turn the lights off at 10:30 and yet many people are still driving around much later than that wanting to see the decorations. Several people have stopped at our site to thank us for decorating and telling us they love that we do this for "them".I am going to see if they have the site decoration contest this year. I would guess they won't if they are trying to do away with them. The Fort is not the same and I miss the way it "was". :mh1: :camp1: :thtray:

Retired and Happy (Ken) 101
Yep. We turned the lights strings off this evening. Incidently we have seen rangers go by much after 11 p.m. and not say a word about hthe decorations. I'm old enough to remember when the Fort was fun. They now seem to be cracking down on the wrong things...like not botheringthe 4 vehicles we saw at one site last evening.

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
What is this about a curfew on Christmas lights Did I miss something Yes. You missed this Jose special: We are welcome to have a rootin' tootin' time, but everything needs to be shut down by 10 pm. TCD
jayco1 15
Jose Grinch?
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Jose Grinch? Now that's not fair. Jose lets us tap our toes and root and toot all we want. As long as it all happens before 10 pm. TCD
lightbikes 73
I wonder if we should all bring inflatable grinches?? Maybe they'd get the message they're spoiling the things that make the Fort work!!!
DaveInTN 3,247
It's Christmas Eve. My decorations are staying on all night tonight. Santa needs the light to safely deliver gifts to our site. If I get a nastygram it will prove to me that Jose is a communist. BradyBzLyn...Mo
The Castle Guy 36
You dare test the wrath of the Disney elite security? Dave, you are the man!!
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
We only have 3 inflatables and a few trees decorated, but we've been keeping it on all night and haven't gotten in trouble. I guess I'm on the naughty list.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Yep, even at home, on Christmas Eve, all the outside timers get set to ON and the lights stay on all night and through the day on Christmas day :) BradyBzLyn...Mo
Retired & Tired (Judy) 90
Ours are on all night too. Santa would be upset if they were not on. This is Christmas after all. BradyBzLyn...Mo
XBoater 8
Come on guys be nice to Jose, I am sure the lights are bothering the armadillos or some other important environmental factor like that. For his next at bat, Jose will be banning campers. Look how bad those guys are on the environment. Always peeing on those helpless trees!!!

FLBBQMAN 1
Hello we just left the fort this morning after 10 days there. We left our lights on every night till about 11:30 and never got any notes left about them being on. I do think its kinda weird that they gave that notice out when the last sleigh ride left the settlement at 10:30 and we had them going by our site in the 700 loop almost 11:00. The amount of sites that had holiday decorations were down this year.
