Beckers 1,136
Love the land pictures. I really enjoy that ride. Remember way back when and a CM rode the boat?
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
I love that picture you got of Michelangelo in Spaceship Earth. For some reason I can never get enough of that scene, it's fascinating! Thank you! Love the land pictures. I really enjoy that ride. Remember way back when and a CM rode the boat? I had forgotten that. It was many years ago.
momof3kids-Yvonne 596
Love the AK pictures. My family didn't want to spend that much time there. Seeing your pictures makes me realize how much we missed.
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Yvonne, David doesn't like spending much time there either. So on this trip I went alone a couple of times. Being by myself, plus being on the scooter instead of having to walk, made such a difference in my appreciation of the park! CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Monday, October 20 -- The Day I Got Sunburned -- Part 2 We were getting hungry, so we headed toward WS and F&WF. We walked all the way around WS before deciding where to eat. We finally decided on food at: I got the delicious Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey: David tried the Chicken Gyro with Tzatziki Sauce: And we split Spanakopita: Next we sampled at Puerto Rico. I had the Ensalada de Carrucho - Caribbean Conch Salad with Onion, Tomato, and Cilantro. It tasted pretty good, but it had a funny aftertaste I didn't like at all. David tried the FlanCocho - Vanilla Caramel Custard with Chocolate Coffee Cake. It was very good! After we finished eating, we headed for the exit. We were both hot, and I was a little sunburned. It was time to call it a day. The view we enjoyed during the long wait for a bus: I think these trucks were lost: While I was riding my scooter down the sidewalk, I approached the area behind the hitch/unhitch area. There was a golf cart stopped there, and the man motioned for me to be quiet and pointed. There were three deer about 20 feet from us. We all just sat there and watched them for several minutes. Finally I had to leave. We had noticed that our "length of stay" refillable mugs were set to expire after 15 days and weren't happy about that. So on our buggy ride we went to the Meadow Trading Post and talked to Lulu. She said she completely understood, and that some of the CMs wouldn't accommodate us, but that she would take care of it if we'd bring both mugs to her. So we went back to Dolly, got both mugs, and Lulu fixed us up. In fact, those mugs still haven't expired. I bought a set of coasters for Dolly. Neither of us was interested in any of the new Fort merchandise. Kassie saw her first armadillo. She didn't know how to react to it. More Halloween decorations: We had been putting up with a loud-mouthed group right behind us in 800 for a few days. When we got back to Dolly we were very happy to discover they had finally left! DaveInTN 3,247
The Greek food looks pretty tasty. That conch salad doesn't look like something I'd enjoy. Thank you for this picture. I grew up 10 minutes from Dunkirk, NY...where the Lake Shore Seed Co is (was) located.
Beckers 1,136
I'm so glad you posted and armadillo pic! I never saw one this trip and I always enjoy seeing them.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
It looks like you had a great day at Epcot. It also looks like somebody finally cleaned the dirt off of the top of Spaceship Earth. I am curious about your comment that your refillable mugs have sill not expired. I thought that CM's could only set them for 14 days at a time, and if you had a longer stay, you needed to go back to have them reset after the first 14 day period expired. Was Lulu able to give you more than 14 days on the mugs? TCD

I never saw one this trip and I always enjoy seeing them. Years ago there were armadillos running around all over the Fort. But this was the only one we saw on this trip. Was Lulu able to give you more than 14 days on the mugs? TCD It was a great day. Low crowds, great weather. And yes, I noticed the lack of dirt too. We purchased our mugs on 10/15 and they were set to expire on 10/29. On 10/20 we told Lulu we weren't leaving until 11/4, and she reset them and told us we should be okay now. Turned out that she reset them to expire today. Don't know how she did it.
fortpartyof4 108
Been so long since I've been able to read a TR. Yours is perfect for those of us too far away to be able to visit the Fort or WDW in general. Just the right mix of parks, food, Fort, and commentary. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talent for photography!

twiceblessed....nacole 433
Thank you all! Desktop has a hard drive failure. Laptop not connecting to my internet connection. Piggybacking off a neighbor's wi-fi signal right now -- weak connection. Don't know when I'll be able to update again. Did you try giving it a good swift kick? That's usually what I do...of course then Tom yells at me and tell me to stop being so rough with the computer. My rant usually doesn't fix anything, but I typically feel a whole lot better :)
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Yes, Nacole, I kicked it! Didn't fix anything. And I don't particularly feel better because I didn't have shoes on! Neighbor's wi-fi is cutting in and out. Gonna try to post another update.
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Tuesday, October 21 -- The Day I Didn't Feel Well -- Part 1 Cooked BACON and eggs for breakfast. My stomach was out of sorts -- think it was the conch salad I ate yesterday -- so we stayed in for the morning. Then around lunchtime I was feeling better, so we went to MK. Another look at the bungalows: Our first stop was IASW because it wasn't time for our FPs to begin and IASW had almost no wait. I still hadn't figured out my camera error yet, so more blurry photos: Next up was the Barnstormer. Then we watched the Silly Saxtet for awhile. Next we visited:
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Tuesday, October 21 -- The Day I Didn't Feel Well -- Part 2 At that point we were both getting hungry, so we decided to go back to the Fort. I cooked an early dinner -- ham, green beans, and coleslaw. Sorry, Dave, no pics. But it's easy to imagine. While we were out looping with Kassie, Big Tom came by and left a card. But he didn't leave his site number, so we didn't know where to find him. We were sorry to have missed him.
