CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
I just got caught up with your TR. Great pictures! I miss being down there and looping around visiting. You sure you two can't swing a February trip? Please say hello to David from us! Thank you, Christina! I wish we could swing a February trip, but our budget won't allow it. Hopefully we'll see you again next November. I know I am new here on Fort Fiends but I love the community already. I hope my family is able to meet many of you face to face one day. Enjoying your TR keep em coming! :D Kristie, I'm very happy you're enjoying my TR! Thank you for reading along!
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Thursday, October 30 -- Another Day in EPCOT -- Part 1 As I sat out under the awning that morning drinking coffee, turkeys were walking around just a few feet from me. After breakfast at TE, we went to EPCOT. I was excited to try and get better pictures in Spaceship Earth. Next we visited our favorite shop: This was the very first hint of Christmas that we saw: Next it was time for: There's a crab under there: To be continued ...

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Were you on the Magic Carpets when you took the pictures of Tomorrowland? No, we didn't ride it. I checked the times on my photos. It was about halfway between Magic Carpets and Sleepy Hollow. Great pics of the Living Seas. When I retire I want to be a boat captain or a scuba diver at Disney. Maybe that's why I love seeing those pic. Thank you, Ray!
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Thursday, October 30 -- Another Day in EPCOT -- Part 2 At that point it was mid-afternoon, and we were ready to snack at F&WF. Our first stop was: We each had a Kalua Pork Slider with Sweet and Sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayonnaise. We had tried them on our last F&WF visit and really enjoyed them. Next stop was: I got something I was excited to try. So excited that I almost forgot to take a picture! It was the Grilled Lamb Chop with Mint Pesto and Potato Crunchies: Sorry about that! And I washed it down with a glass of Chateau Tanuda Grand Barossa Dry Rieseling: The lamb chop was probably the best item I had at F&WF. And the Rieseling was good too. David couldn't find anything else he wanted to try at the F&WF booths, so he went to the CS in Mexico and got: I tasted the nachos. They were good. But there were too many chips for the amount of toppings, and neither of us cares for jalapenos. After almost finishing off the nachos, we headed for the exit. And of course the first order of business at the fort (after a potty break) was taking Kassie looping! I would not have been happy to have a site across from this one: The smoke at times was way too heavy. And it didn't smell great. We visited Hilda for awhile, then Bill/Christina and Dave/Linda. After looping we snacked for dinner. We'd had enough food today for two days. And as usual I sat down at the computer, copied my pics to the laptop and to an external hard drive, and started editing them. That's how most of my days ended. DaveInTN 3,247
I love jalapenos. Prefer fresh ones, but on nachos I like the jarred ones. Mmmm, they sound good to me right now and it's only 7am.

Mmmm, they sound good to me right now and it's only 7am. I like jalapenos okay if they're not too hot. These were fiery. Kassie makes me smile :) I would not have been happy either, living next to those people either! Yuck... We're headed to our local Mexican restaurant for a late lunch ... That smoke was so much worse than it looked like in my photo. It was so bad you couldn't even see the RV and decorations. I had to wait for it to dissipate to take the picture! CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Friday, October 31 -- The Day We Said Goodbye to DHS -- Part 1 I cooked scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage for breakfast. David was obviously in no mood to get ready, so I left him behind after he promised to meet me before our first FP+ time. I had a long wait for the bus but finally made it to our destination. It was another beautiful day! I knew the hat would be gone by our next visit, so I wanted to take lots of photos of it. And David did arrive in time for: Nearing picture limit ... CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Friday, October 31 -- The Day We Said Goodbye to DHS -- Part 2 David always enjoys spending time in One Man's Dream, so we visited there next. Our lunch reservation time arrived! We split the sampler platter. Neither of us could decide which meat was best. All three were very good. And then I got the no-sugar-added cheesecake. David enjoyed the Dad's Sundae. After lunch we walked/rode around just soaking in the atmosphere. Photo limit ... to be continued.
DaveInTN 3,247
I've had the sampler at 50's before. I would rate the meats in this order: Fried chicken, pot roast, meatloaf. Their fried chicken is very good, IMO. The meatloaf is just ok. My oldest daughter LOVES their potroast. We won't be eating there on this next trip....going to do the character breakfast instead. Anna will get to meet Sophia and Doc McStuffins....two of her favorites!
The Troll 67
Some seriously beautiful photography in this report. Probably the best I've seen in any trip report.

I wish you could all see my photos now that I've been home and had the time to edit them on my desktop. The photos you're seeing were edited on my ten year old laptop with a lousy screen. I didn't straighten anything, and, looking back through my TR, I missed a lot of dust spots. If I do another TR, unless I get a new laptop with a better screen (which I'm probably going to have to do this year), I will definitely wait until I get home to start editing photos. CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Okay, let's move on! Friday, October 31 -- The Day We Said Goodbye to DHS -- Part 3 I couldn't believe this toddler's parents let him go behind the barricade and play while they totally ignored him. It looked potentially dangerous. I am not a Vera Bradley fan. But I found a tote bag that I really liked. Only I couldn't find one that had a prominent Mickey on the front. Finally found one and am now the proud owner of:
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Friday, October 31 -- The Day We Said Goodbye to DHS -- Part 4 Oscar's wrecker was back. It was gone earlier in the trip. Goodbye, DHS. We hope to see you again next year too! We went back to the Fort and watched the golf cart parade. I took photos of every single golf cart, but there were way too many to post them all here. I'll just include the winners. Best Disney: Spookiest: Most creative: Most adorable: Most unique: 1st place: 2nd place: 3rd place: Went looping for awhile and stopped by to visit with Carol and Rick for a few minutes. Cooked dinner -- ham, stewed squash, carrots. Let me tell you -- the 700 loop was an unbelievable madhouse that night! I wish I'd taken pictures. We couldn't have left our site on the cart if we'd wanted to. It was wall-to-wall people. About 8:15 pm an ambulance, fire truck, and sheriff were across the street near the exit to the 600 loop. I was told later that there was a fight. A guy thought he had his cart in forward, but it was in reverse. When he tried to take off, he backed into a little boy (he thankfully wasn't hurt). And apparently the father got into a fist fight with the driver.
Helmsey......Todd 134
Does anyone know who owns the cart that is "most adorable"? I remember seeing it at the Fort when we were there in May.That SMB a kid was run into, thankful he wasn't hurt.

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Saturday, November 1 -- The Day I Went on Medicare -- Part 1 Yes, sadly I turned 65 this month and went on Medicare today. I'm not happy about this turn of events. I don't feel old, but my age says I am. And I have the Medicare card to prove it. We went to the Outpost to check in again. We made another visit to the Meadow Trading Post and were still not fans of the new Fort merchandise. We again had breakfast at TE. We don't usually go there on weekends. Were surprised to see that Kenny and Edsel were the only familiar faces on staff. There was a strong wind this day. We were surprised that the boats were running. But they were, and we eventually made our way to the Magic Kingdom. We were shocked. Last night (10/31) was the last MNSSHP. This morning almost all of the Halloween decorations were gone. Don't know why I didn't take pictures! We rode the People Mover again to see if we could get updated glimpses of the construction. Has anything changed?
CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Saturday, November 1 -- The Day I Went on Medicare -- Part 2 Cinderalla Castle was as beautiful as always. And Mickey and Minnie were still their sweet, adorable selves: Fantasyland was still beautiful. Aha! This is the pic that I need to add to the "Where in the World" thread. We took another trip through POTC. The ride had a 40-minute standby wait. Thankfully we had FPs. I didn't know there two types of lights there! We stopped in the Emporium for David to get me a pair of gloves. I would need them tonight and tomorrow! David likes to ride the monorail to EPCOT, so we hopped on the Express at MK to TTC and then transferred to the EPCOT one.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I got behind with my trip report reading, but just caught up. You have posted a bunch more excellent photos. Thanks for the golf cart parade photos and for identifying the winners. They all did a great job. And, I'm glad you posted that photo of the window from the "Where in the World" thread. It was bugging me that I couldn't guess that one. The interesting thing I've noticed since it that there are a lot of windows around WDW like that. They are in several places around New Fantasyland, including the Dwarfs' cottage on the Mine Train ride, and Gaston's Tavern. And, they have windows like that in Germany at Epcot as well.
