beccaewert 10
Ok we just bought our first popoup yesterday. Its a 1999 Viking. Its been kept in a garage, no leaks, very well maintained. There is some cleaning needed to be done to the canvas, nothing major, but what products work best? Also, is there any kind of protectant we can spray or wipe on? Any info on pups is appreciated! parrothead7368 aka Norm 101
Here is something you can do if it mildew stains. Also, a good site for pop-ups is http://popupexplorer.com/forum/index.phpThings You'll Need:Spray bottle Distilled white vinegar Baking soda Sponge Hot water Bucket Clean cloth Open up the extended areas of the pop-up camper or expandable camping trailer. This gives you access to all of the surface areas that may be harboring mildew. Pour the distilled white vinegar into a spray bottle (If a milder solution is desired mix ? vinegar and ? warm water together). Spray the mildew on the camper heavily with distilled white vinegar. Allow the vinegar to sit on the camper for a few moments. Mix baking soda with hot water and submerge a cleaning sponge into the mixture. Scrub the mildewed area with the sponge; the baking soda and vinegar work together to loosen and remove the mildew (they also remove the musty smell). Rinse off the pop-up camper once you have finished scrubbing it; then dry it off with a clean cloth to prevent rust or additional mildew growth. Another method is using a good cleaner, like ?It?s the Best? Awning cleaner and adding ? cup of vinegar. Let the tent dry completely. You can then apply a product to waterproof your tent material and help keep mildew from reappearing. Try ?Starbrite Waterproofing with Teflon? or ?RV Awning Water Proofer" by Camco. Follow the directions on the label for best results.Note: Test these methods on small area first and observe the results. Results may vary and the user assumes all responsibility.Best Regards,Norm
