Beckers 1,136
Upon our exit from our standard "meet and greet" with Cinderella and Princess Aurora at Fairytale Hall in Cinderella's Castle, a cast member stops my 4 year-old son and I, "Ma'am, excuse me, but Princess Cinderella has asked for your son to be brought back in to her Royal Chamber."I was in total shock, but nodded and followed with Hayden at my side... The cast member leads us in to a private chamber in the castle in which there are 2 photographers, 3 more cast members, and the two Princesses, whom proceed to have a 30 minute play date, story time, sing a long and photo session with my son. They literally closed down the chamber, door shut and all. I was in such shock, I just left the photos up to the photographers and watched them in amazement. Thereafter, Hayden received a Royal invitation from Cinderella herself to be seated at her Royal Dining Table for dinner. He didn't make it, and conked out - Might have had something to do with two feisty princesses wearing him out!I am sharing this story, because I didn't even know that Disney did this, and so I am quite sure that most every other parent is unaware of it as well. However, Hayden was crowned a Prince at the gate randomly yesterday by a cast member: Thereto, Mickey comped his lunch, gave him a complimentary pick of any children's clothing item in the Emporium, stage castle seating in Mickey and Minnie's Show, front of the line cast escorts to any 2 rides of his choosing, premiere parade seating, in which Woody and Jessie pulled him in to the parade for a twirl AND OF COURSE THE INFAMOUS PLAY DATE! To all of my fellow parents: You have got to get your kid crowned prince/princess at least once. They don't tell you what to expect, but I kept getting grabbed by cast members, ushered around, and little trinkets delivered by the cast members with messages from the characters (Mickey Popcorn Bucket full of Buttery Popcorn for Mickey's Show and a Woody Boot full of a root beer slushy for Hayden at the parade). Hayden's face was covered in smooches and he had the most SURPRISINGLY MAGICAL DAY!!!

It seems too good to be true. Why wouldn't this woman have photos of all the free stuff the kid got to do? Guess that means TCD will be cruising again soon. Not so sure about that. They work the college kids to death. Doubtful the girls can get the time off while still in the program to go on a cruise. Probably not. Carol and Lou are right. If we were going to take a cruise at a CM rate, it would have to be while the twins are still CM's-which means during their programs which end on January 4th. They would have to both be able to get time off at the same time, and it would also have to be at a time our oldest could go. There was just no way we could make it work. It's too bad. The CM rates are unbelievable. TCD

Very perceptive Yvonne. Ohhhhhh! I see. Maybe some day. But, I don't think that would go over very well at this particular time. If it wasn't DCL, I would consider it. But no way would I go on a DCL cruise without them while they're working their butts off at Disney. TCD

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
The CM must occupy one of the staterooms.I don't think CP kids get this perk anyway because when could they go? CP kids can book DCL cruises at a discount just like any other CM's. But, you're right about not having time to go. At best, they could possibly get time off for a three night cruise. But, they have to request the time off far in advance. We tried to find a way to make it work where the whole family could go, but it's not going to happen this time around. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Sorry for the DCL hijack, Beckers. I want to go back the original point of this thread- the fantastic story told by the blogger about how her kid got chosen to be the prince of the day. I've never heard of such a thing. How magical. But, there is so much about the blog post that confuses me. Let's take a closer look at it: Upon our exit from our standard "meet and greet" with Cinderella and Princess Aurora at Fairytale Hall in Cinderella's Castle, a cast member stops my 4 year-old son and I, "Ma'am, excuse me, but Princess Cinderella has asked for your son to be brought back in to her Royal Chamber." This is a strange way to begin the post. The author acts like it was a total surprise that her son was called back into the "Royal Chamber," yet later in the article she says how her son was randomly chosen to be "Prince" at the gate, and had been showered with gifts and special treatment all day. BTW- Princess Fairytale Hall is not in Cinderella Castle. And it is Cinderella Castle, not Cinderella's Castle. Everyone knows that. Except the blogger. And, what were Cinderella and Aurora doing in there together? - the current princesses meeting there are Cinderella and Rapunzel on one side, and Anna and Elsa on the other: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/entertainment/magic-kingdom/character-meet-cinderella-rapunzel-fairytale-hall/ Very strange, because she posted on September 25 that it happened "yesterday" at the Magic Kingdom. So that would be September 24th, right? What was Aurora doing there? I was in total shock, but nodded and followed with Hayden at my side... Why was she in total shock? According to what she says later, her son had been "crowned" at the gate, and they were given vouchers for free merchandise and a free meal. So, getting something special in the princess meet and greet was a total shock? The cast member leads us in to a private chamber in the castle in which there are 2 photographers, 3 more cast members, and the two Princesses, whom proceed to have a 30 minute play date, story time, sing a long and photo session with my son. Now hold on a minute here. I thought she was in Fairytale Hall? But they took her to a private chamber in the castle? And, sorry, you guessed wrong on the who/whom thing. And you had a 50/50 chance. I hate it when that happens. Blog writing is hard. They literally closed down the chamber, door shut and all. I was in such shock, I just left the photos up to the photographers and watched them in amazement. They literally closed down the whole chamber? They even shut the door! For a half an hour? How magical for the guests waiting in line to meet the princesses. And, you were still in shock? Thereafter, Hayden received a Royal invitation from Cinderella herself to be seated at her Royal Dining Table for dinner. He didn't make it, and conked out - Might have had something to do with two feisty princesses wearing him out!Cinderella has a Royal Dining Table? And Hayden was invited to sit at it? Is that the same as the restaurant called Cinderella's Royal Table (no "Dining")? And you let him fall asleep? Dang it. I hate it when that happens. Were you in total shock?Totally understandable. A four year old boy only has so much energy. Of course 30 minutes of play time would wear the poor kid out. And no way would you wake a sleeping kid up for a free dinner in the castle. That's crazy talk.I am sharing this story, because I didn't even know that Disney did this, and so I am quite sure that most every other parent is unaware of it as well. However, Hayden was crowned a Prince at the gate randomly yesterday by a cast member: You aren't kidding. I have never heard of it, nor ever seen it mentioned anywhere. But we should totally believe you, right? Thereto, Mickey comped his lunch, gave him a complimentary pick of any children's clothing item in the Emporium, stage castle seating in Mickey and Minnie's Show, front of the line cast escorts to any 2 rides of his choosing, premiere parade seating, in which Woody and Jessie pulled him in to the parade for a twirl AND OF COURSE THE INFAMOUS PLAY DATE! Thereto? Who talks like that? Or is it whom talks like that? What the heck are your trying to say? So let's get this straight- Mickey (or was it the Castmember?) gave your kid; 1. A free lunch (wow! For what restaurant? Where did you eat?)2. A free item of clothing that you got to pick in the Emporium. (I wonder what you picked? Was there a price limit?)3. Castle seating for Mickey and Minnie's show (where is there seating? What is this show?)4. Front of the line cast escorts to any two rides (paper FP's weren't enough? A CM had to escort you?)5. "Premiere" parade seating (for which parade?) (oh- the one with Woody and Jessie?) (What parade is that?) (not the Festival of Fantasy Parade) (so you got "premiere" seating for the Move it Shake it parade? How magical) (and BTW- I think you meant premier, without the e. Dang it- this writing stuff is hard, isn't it?) And (in all caps) an infamous play date? Why was it infamous? Oh, I see, you don't know what infamous means, do you? I hate it when that happens. This writing stuff is literally totally hard, isn't it? And then on top of all that, your kid got invited to Cinderella's Royal Dining Table? But he fell asleep. Too bad. To all of my fellow parents: You have got to get your kid crowned prince/princess at least once. Now here's some great and realistic advice. I agree, at least once. Wow. So the stuff you already mentioned wasn't all? You got trinkets? And a bucket of popcorn? And a root beer slushy? Wow. They used to serve those boots full or root beer slushies at Pecos Bill's. But, they don't anymore. I guess they hooked up the machine and made one just for Hayden. Magical! Hayden's face was covered in smooches and he had the most SURPRISINGLY MAGICAL DAY!!! Well, isn't that the best? I agree- it sounds surprisingly magical. I am so glad this lady took the time to write this article. It must have been a lot of work for her, with her limited command of the written word. But, she has done Disney fans everywhere such a great service. Now, every parent knows that he or she must get his or her kid crowned at least once. If this article wasn't posted on such a prestigious and widely read blog, I might have a bit of trouble believing it. TCD BradyBzLyn...Mo and wendinator
