BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Disney is now offering digital projection on wedding cakes. It's the same process that's used onthe castle, simple, but effective. http://youtu.be/Ct28WpcACy4

fladogfan aka Gretchen 259
Figure out how it's done, looks cool. Saves a lot of time decorating the cake and probably can charge more!
LONE-STAR 370
Well that's awesome. My 5 year old just said now she wants to get married at Disney world.

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
It costs them less to do this than actually decorate a cake. You get a plain white cake and pay more for it...... Brilliant!!
Lou... 3,118
WILL be charging more, gotta pay for the techy stuff. And pay for me. First time I work a wedding where they've bought that option, I think I'll accidently walk between the projector and the cake. Oops, excuse me.

red...Susan 37
Won't the cake cutting photos look a little bland. They would have to turn it off or it would show on their hands in the photos?
h2odivers...Ray 952
Cool. But I am with Kelly. Not for a wedding cake.

Won't the cake cutting photos look a little bland. How so? They would have to turn it off or it would show on their hands in the photos? Maybe they can position the bride and groom in such a way as to not interfere with the projection.I'd hate to spend all that money and not get a photo with the bride and groom in it. GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
What about it don't you like? I think it's cool for a birthday cake, but not a wedding cake. I guess I'm traditional about some things.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
More on how the whole projection cake thing works... The projectors are placed on a small table not far from the cake, disguised as wedding gift boxes so that it's difficult for guests to determine where the projection is coming from. The cake used is a 5 tier cake with a white chocolate castle cake topper that has an LED light inside for more "sparkle and flair." There are currently five standard sequences:2 Tinker Bell sequencesCinderella's Coachpixie dust sparklesa "They Lived Happily Ever After" messageCouples can customize their own sequence with photos or different themes.
