superloopers 2
Thanks to all of the information that I got from reading on this site, our first trip to Fort Wilderness was a great one. We were there for the week of Labor Day, and other than the weekends, we had the place to ourselves. We were leaving on a Friday after work coming from NC, so we decided to pace ourselves and stop for the night at the Georgia-Florida line. I snapped just a few pictures of what the campground we stopped at looked like. I am new to photo bucket and trying to post pictures on forums, so I will try this and see if it works. Thanks for bearing with me!

superloopers 2
I'm here, looks like a nice place to stop. It was a nice place to stop. Small but quiet. A good place to get some rest for a night. I'm in! Thanks! I'm in. You're doing fine. The photos look good. So where is this campground you stopped at? I agree that it looks very nice. TCD Thanks! The campground was right off I-95 at exit 1 in Georgia. Right before you crossed into Florida. It looks like mostly people stopping in for a night on long trips. superloopers 2
So we got up Saturday morning to drive the rest of the way to the Fort. Here we are at a rest stop on the way. Saturday was check-in then we went and picked up our cart from Kenny. We were cooking for my family that night in celebration of my son's 4th birthday. But first we decided to explore a little bit. Here is DW and DS checking out the beach. Beach selfie with the family in the background. Doing some looping. That was all we had time for before we had to get back to the camper and cook for my family. We had hobo packets (or at least that's what we call them). Sorry no pictures of the food. Here is my family when we were getting ready to eat. Then we took a picture of our new Mickey lamp we just made for this trip. Here is our site. We were in 1405. I requested the 1400 loop by faxing in the request form from this site. After dinner we all went and checked out the trading posts and then it was time for cake! But first DS has to blow out the candles. That pretty much completes Saturday other than the clean up and settling in for our week long stay. I will pick up with Sunday August 31st. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
This report is already full of win! You have a beautiful truck and trailer. And this was your first trip to the Fort? You got a Kenny cart? Check. You faxed a site request? Check. A birthday celebration at the Fort? Check. You and the Wife already have Fort Wilderness t-shirts? Check. Awesome job. Now, all of those people weren't staying in that trailer, were they? TCD
lklasing 16
Awesome report so far! Y'all are such a cute family! I have family in Gastonia, and more family in Charlotte. The Charlotte gang has actually been with us at FW before, but the Gastonia family is not the camping type as best I can tell. But, if you know a doctor in Gastonia that looks a lot like my husband (in my avatar pic), tell him Leslie said hey! :wave1: Looking forward to more!

Now, all of those people weren't staying in that trailer, were they? TCD Thanks! We got our t-shirts on our last trip to Disney. We stopped by to scope out the Fort to see if it was something we wanted to try. That was before I came across fort fiends. It was just myself, DW and DS in our camper. Everyone else was staying at POP. Awesome report so far! Y'all are such a cute family! I have family in Gastonia, and more family in Charlotte. superloopers 2
Sunday was pretty much a free day as well. We left and went to the outlets in the morning. Then we decided to go look at a resort we had never been to and get some lunch. My wife picked Animal Kingdom Lodge. Here's our first time on the bus this trip. Here we are checking out the scenery We had reservations for HDDMR for dinner so we headed back to get ready for that after lunch. We have been going to Disney since I was 6 and this was my first time doing HDDMR and the whole family loved it. My brother was the Indian scout and it was hillarious. Here's a few shots of us at our table. We stopped by the campfire for a few minutes, but we missed Chip and Dale. The last thing we did was watch Wishes and the EWP from the beach. That's it for Sunday. Monday we go to Epcot.
