Momof6....aka Marty 769
Disney World’s new FastPass Plus Advance Reservation System has caused quite a bit of concern for Military Travelers! The ProblemWith the advent of Disney world’s new FastPass Plus Advance Reservation System it is very important to have your WDW tickets well prior to arrival.Where you stay affects how far in advance you can make your FP+ reservations. Those staying at Disney Resorts – Make FP+ reservations 60 Days PriorThose staying at Non-Disney Resorts, like Shades of Green – Make FP+ reservations 30 Days PriorIn order to make your FastPass reservations, you need to link your theme park tickets to your My Disney Experience account. You do this by taking the number off the back of the ticket and entering it into MDE, or by scanning the back or the ticket with your MDE smart phone app.Without the ticket, you can’t do this and you’ll miss out on getting the most popular experiences like the Anna and Elsa Meet and Greet or the best times. This is a big issue for those who do not live reasonably close to a military base!Waiting until you arrive at Disney World to buy your tickets will keep you from getting some of the experiences that you want! The SolutionsThere are two solutions, one for those staying at Shades of Green, one for everyone else.Shades of Green – Shades has had a ticket pre-purchase program for years. They have modified it to fit the FastPass Plus timeline. Here is how it works, 45 days prior to your arrival date, Shades will send yo an email. The email contains information and the link needed to pre-pay for your Disney World (and other venues too) theme park tickets. You’ll pay via your credit card and Shades will have the physical tickets waiting for you when you check in. They do this to verify your ID. But wait, don’t I need the number off the back? You’re thinking…You do. Once you’ve paid, Shades will email you the numbers off of the back of your tickets. They will set these specific tickets aside for you until you arrive.Once you have the numbers from the tickets you can then link them in MDE and once the rolling 30 open availability window reaches your first theme park date, you can make your FP+ for that first day. You can make the second day of FP+ the next day and so on.This is only available for those staying at Shades of Green.Non-Shades of Green Guests (Disney resorts, off property resorts, day guests) – For those not staying at Shades you can buy your tickets via phone and receive them via FedEx.You can do this through Camp Pendelton, in Oceanside, CA. The Camp Pendleton ITT , the closest military base to Disneyland, can take your order over the phone and then send them to you. They carry all varieties of Disneyland and Disney World tickets both Armed Forces Salute and Regular Military Discounted Disney tickets plus other locations. There is a $10.oo fee for them to send your tickets to you via FedEx. You can pay for your tickets and fee with your credit card.Disney World tickets require a 2 week lead time! This is because they may need to order the specific tickets that you want.Remember:Disney Resort Guests – Make FP+ reservations 60 Days PriorNon-Disney Resort Guests – Make FP+ reservations 30 Days PriorTo order your tickets, contact the Camp Pendleton ITT Pacific Plaza at (760) 725-5863.Their hours of operation are: Mon-Sat: 8:30am-6:30pm (Pacific Time)Disneyland Military Tickets are available for sale via phone as well.Once you have your tickets, go ahead and link them in MDE and once the 60 day eligibility or rolling 30 open availability window reaches your first theme park date, you can make your FP+ for that first day. You can make the second day of FP+ the next day and so on.Please Note: Camp Pendleton sends paper exchange vouchers when you purchase Disney Armed Forces Salute tickets. Some bases sell these paper versions, some sell plastic tickets (which Disney still calls Exchange Vouchers). In either case you can link or scan them into MDE.You need to also link you Disney Resort reservation in MDE to open up the 60 day availability. My Disney Experience Linking IssuesIf you have issues linking your tickets or the number of days on the ticket does not show up in MDE (this can happen with ereg) simply call the Disney Internet Help Desk at 800-848-6413. They can assist you with getting things right. From http://www.militarydisneytips.com/blog/disney-military-discounts/buy-military-discounted-disney-tickets-by-phone/ Thank you for your service. BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Great info, Marty - thanks!!
Grumpy and Grandma 740
Thought I had the right info but had to wait till 11:30 to verify. The SALUTE tickets change on Sept 27 (2013/2014 vs 2014/2015) So if your going early Oct with the 2 week mailing window it may not work for you.
Santa ... Shannon 160
Yeah, ideally you'd order tickets no later than 74 days out from your first park day (60 FastPass window+14 day shipping), so October 18 from today.
