h2odivers...Ray 952
Here is a few more pix of Buckingham Palace. I really wish y'all could have been there to see it for yourselves. The pictures just don't do it justice. They take security serious. This is the entrance all the cars came in and out of. The queens coat of arms was on most if not all of the gates. We came up to the palace from the right side and walked around in a clockwise direction. This is the left front of the palace. They weren't giving tours of the palace because the queen was there. But they do give them later in the summer when she goes to her summer palace. But I took some pix of the inside for you to enjoy. Ok the pictures were posted outside the palace. Then the Queen came out in her royal carriage. I wish. LolA couple of the side gates. Just had to check. Yep, we are still at the palace. We had now walked around three sides of Buckingham palace and found this little cafe right across the street from back wall of the palace. We sat inside and enjoyed the view, the drinks, and the food. That's DD on the right with Ms. Donna. I do have some pood forn but that will have to wait till the next update. We will also be jumping on a double decker bus and seeing the rest of the highlights in London. So don't go away. We will be right back. Thanks Ray

CCIntrigue...aka Gwen 547
Anyone else notice the anthurium? I think of England as a stodgy place. I would have thought they would have had mums or such -- not a tropical flower.

I would have thought they would have had mums or such -- not a tropical flower.Well I had to google anthurium. It was a beautiful day and the restaurant was African themed and maybe that's why they had the tropical flowers.
h2odivers...Ray 952
This update is dedicated to Lou. But I know he doesn't read TRs. Ok we had walked around three sides of Buckingham palace and found a nice little cafe across the street from Buckingham. Here is the view from the restaurant. It's of the rear of the Buckingham place buildings. The manager told us that's were the servants enter and those are some offices for the people who run the place. Here's my view. You've got to love it. The manager came over as we were seated and he made some suggestions for our early dinner. He had the bartender make this non alcoholic beverage for my DD. She really liked it. Probably because it looked pretty. Hey Beckers our waitress was from New Jersey. I don't remember where but she was really nice. The BBar was a nice place with an African theme they had a few items with an African twist but also "normal" food. I had a very tasty sandwich. A Salt Beef Sandwich It was kind of like a pastrami or corned beef sandwich. I highly recommend it. It came with a lovely broccoli salad and lots of pickles. Ed had the "classic" burger. Angus beef with cheese and BACON. The stuff on top is BBar relish. Ed said it was really good. I wouldn't know since he didn't share. LolMy niece had the fish of the day. I don't remember what kind it was but she ate it all and really liked it. Sorry but that's all the pood forn I have for now but there is a lot more to come. Here's a picture of my best girls inside the BBar. After our early dinner we were all tired and decided to head back to our hotel to get some rest because we were going to get an early start on seeing the rest of London. Here's a picture from our hotels lobby bar. I don't know what the heck I'm doing but I like the picture of my DD. DD and I were soon asleep. Ok not really. After a few beverages we walked around the neighborhood and then called it a night. The next morning we caught the bus to the subway and headed to downtown London. This guy, in the Underground, was really good and of course DD had to tip him. I wish you could see how long and steep this escalator is.And this is where we were going. Wow! We came out if the subway and it was coming out in Times Square. Or something close to it. Here's a few pix. Sorry but that's photo limit. More London pix in a minute. h2odivers...Ray 952
Ok I'm back with some more pix of Piccadilly Circus. This guy was making sand sculptures I. The middle of London. WTF! The beach is miles and miles away. LolDD helped him for a few minutes, tipped him and we were off exploring downtown London. See why I said it reminded me of Times Square?I hope this panoramic picture comes out. Here's a shot of the fountain in the middle of the square. A close up of the cool statue on top of that last building. Hey I thought these things only came in red. Look who I found! It iPad guy! But his guy likes to wear his backpack backwards. I think he knew I was taking his picture. Oh well. A few more pix of the square before we get on the double decker tour bus. My DW and DD love music and would have sat there for hours listening to them play. But we had a bus to catch. Let's get on the bus. First stop. One of the most famous hotels in the world. Let's check out the sights. Cool statute. Let's head over to Big Ben. That darn photo limit. Well it's getting late so next time we will see more and better pictures of Big Ben, Westminster abbey, the London Eye, and a lot more. Thanks for reading along.
