GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
The Epcot Explorer's Encyclopedia is reporting on Facebook that it appears that Maelstrom will close Sept. 27th. DaveInTN 3,247
I doubt it, as Delsa has not been measured for an audioanimatronic replica yet. There is quite a lead time for that sort of thing.

DaveInTN 3,247
I heard the Yeti was being fitted for a blue sparkly gown.... That's ridiculous. Why rely on an Earthbound, strobe-lit Yeti when you can enjoy the jiggling, luminescent dance moves of the real Delsa?

Seals 111
Back to topic! I like Maelstrom. I like that it is about Norway folklore (isn't it?). It's not about a Disney movie. But I guess that explains itself for the change.
Lou... 3,118
Nothing yet on the internal hours of operation calendar, but there's a lot of internal unofficial buzz regarding Maelstrom and the Norway pavilion in general.I toured the Norway event venue located upstairs last week and it was sad. It needs a complete refurb.

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Don't cry yet, Marty. There are a LOT of rumors swirling right now about the Norway pavilion, and in addition to nothing on the TA or internal schedules yet, I'm not seeing this date or any other being floated by any of the other usually-reliable sources. So don't go rearranging your spreadsheet.... yet.

We are planning to do AK from 8am - 12pm, and then DHS from 1pm - Fantasmic, which starts at 8pm. So we could, conceivably go to Epcot after that and ride Maelstorm. And we would still have Sat. and Sunday to recover from that. But I am still hoping the rumor isn't true. (Need to put Airborne on the packing list!)
Lou... 3,118
Do all or most of the countries have event space? Nope, while a lot of the countries have outdoor space where events can be set up, only a few have dedicated indoor event space. Most events take place outdoors lakeside. Good thinking on the Airborne! I don't go to WDW without it. And have the kids practice opening doors with their elbows.
Momof6....aka Marty 769
I am reading that no FP+ are being offered for Maelstorm after 9/27/14.

DaveInTN 3,247
Well, it's official. I got the call today. I will be measured and a wax mold will be made for the Delsa audio-animatronics fire this ride next month. I'm actually quite excited....Delsa will be prominently featured in the climactic scene where she sings her famous song "Let It Snow". AC in A2......Aaron 693
So Delsa must be from the Great Lakes Region or the northeast then....since it just stopped snowing about a half hour ago.

Lou... 3,118
Any further news about this rumor? There is still nothing about it on the internal schedule. That doesn't mean much as they tend to keep things close to the vest until the last minute.

djsamuel 322
We were at Epcot yesterday. A large chunk of the store is now only Frozen merchandise. The perfume area is now all Frozen as well as some of the area in the room with the troll. The meet and greet area is still being worked on.
