BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From The Main Street Mouse... The Marvel Cinematic Universe Announces Dates, But Not Films July 20, 2014 | Author TMSM Avenger I’ve talked before about the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The whole premise behind it is very impressive. For those that don’t know, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is the name of the media franchise and shared fictional universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, independently produced by Marvel Studios and based on characters that appear in publications by Marvel Comics. The Universe has also spilled over on to the ABC hit series, Marvels: Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and will also with Agent Carter due out this fall. Marvel always talked about the 3 phases of the “Universe”. The first one began in 2008 with Iron Man and completed with The Avengers. The 2nd phase began with Iron Man 3 and will complete with The Avengers: Age of Ultron due out in May 2015. Phase 3 will begin with the release of Ant-Man that is due out in 2015 also. Rumors have always floated about which movies will be coming out and when. Marvel has now released some dates for 5 films that will be part of Phase 3 and they go till 2019. I know that date seems so far away, but when you think about Iron Man being released in 2008, we are already 6 years into the franchise. It appears we have no films set for 2016, but I’m sure they will have something to keep the fans wanting more. The first film is set for July 28, 2017. Then another on November 3, 2017. In 2018 we have films on July 6 and November 2nd. My guess would be that Phase 3 will come to an end on May 3, 2019. My best guesses for future films? Well I would assume since the first 2 phases have ended with The Avengers, that will be what comes out on May 3, 2019, that makes the most sense. As far as the other films, I have heard rumors of another Captain America and Thor film. Also, it’s been said there will be a 2nd Guardians of the Galaxy. For what I think will be the other film, I believe they will release a Hulk movie. The fans would really like that and after Mark Ruffalo’s portrayal of Bruce Banner/Hulk in The Avengers, I think the film would be awesome. I have also heard some wanting a Black Widow/Hawkeye movie. Who knows what we will get. Things can and always do change over time. You also never know, they may introduce new characters from the Marvel comics into the universe. One day soon, I’m going to write a blog to talk more about the Universe and the future of the franchise. Also, I will talk about things that are going on that will effect the Universe. For instance, this past week we found out that Sam Wilson/Falcon is going to be replacing Steve Rogers as Captain America in the comic beginning in October. This will be the 7th person to play Captain. There has been talk that Bucky Barnes/The Winter Soldier would be taking over the role of Captain America as he did in the comics many years ago. This just shows, anything and I mean anything can change quickly. I know for me, I would love it if Disney could get the cinematic rights for Spider-Man and the X-Men and be able to incorporate them into the Universe some where. Spider-Man and Wolverine are Avengers in the comics and it would be great to see them on screen with the other hero’s. I highly doubt that will happen, but a fan can hope can’t they? My guesses for which films will come out on what dates is:July 28, 2017 – Thor 3November 3, 2017 – Captain America 3July 6, 2018 – HulkNovember 2, 2018 Guardians of the Galaxy 2May 3, 2019 – The Avengers 3 These are just my guesses, I haven’t heard anything about this if its true or not and Marvel has not made any official announcements. This is just one fan’s opinion. So what are your opinions, and are you excited for the future of the franchise? http://www.themainstreetmouse.com/2014/07/20/the-marvel-cinematic-universe-announces-dates-but-not-films/

WannaBeImagineer 98
I thought Universal had the theme park rights to Marvel in the US. Is that the trick part of the question? WBI
Lou... 3,118
I thought Universal had the theme park rights to Marvel in the US.Is that the trick part of the question?WBI Very close, Nick.As it's been explained to me and as I understand it, Disney can not have any Marvel character themed rides/attractions in a Disney theme park east of the Mississippi River. Universal retains those rights forever. When Disney wrapped one of the monorails, advertising a Marvel movie recently, the internal buzz was that they did a monorail that would only go to the MK and not to Epcot because they were worried that they would get into a legal dispute as the Epcot monorail enters Epcot, but a MK monorail does not enter the MK.The dispute would be, is the monorail a ride/attraction. If it was found to be one, Disney would be in violation of having a Marvel themed ride in one of their parks east of the Mississippi. They may, or may not have prevailed, but I guess they didn't want to take the chance. So don't be looking for a 5th park at WDW based on Marvel characters.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Ooh... that's tricky. I'm ok with no Marvel in the parks. I'll take a Monsters Inc coaster, or Star Wars Land, or Carsland. I'm not picky.

As long as it's a good ride, you can call it "Pots and Pans" for all I care. Oh but do pick a theme of some sort so that the queue isn't completely boring. The 'C'. :rofl2:
