Thomas L Graves 0
When is the earliest date I can make reservations at the Fort? I have tried to make them from Nov 23 - Nov 28 and they say there is nothing available. Is that true or is it simply too early to make the reservation? Thanks, Thomas L. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
First off Welcome!!!!! You can actually make reservations 499 days ahead of your checkout date by calling the reservation center. Yes, the Fort is probably already booked up for Thanksgiving, but don't give up, there is a 45-day cancellation window for packages, and a 5-day cancellation window for "room only" so something will open up. Also try booking more days than you need, for example try 2 weeks starting on a Wednesday before you actually arrive, then ending several days after you depart. For some reason the system is set up to show more availability with longer stays. Another suggestion, contact Jason at Mouse Counselors (sponsor on this site), He is an awesome travel agent, and one message or phone call to him, and he will do all the checking for you. Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I have nothing to add, other than another welcome! As you have discovered, the Disney reservation system leaves much to be desired. For reasons that are not always clear, they intentionally block off days during certain holidays, and it is impossible to make reservations for long periods of time. Then, all of a sudden, the restrictions are sometimes lifted, and you can book the days you want. I will echo what Carol said about using a travel agent- if you get a good one (like Jason) he will know how the game is played. Disney pays the travel agent a commission, and it doesn't cost you anything to use the travel agent's services. Travel agents also seem to have much better luck at finding discounts than you could hope to do on your own. In the future, you really need to book holidays like Thanksgiving or Christmas at least a year ahead of time. TCD
