keith_h 420
If that is going to be opened to the public? I see that grass being replaced at least once a week, and during the summer rainy season daily once the fireworks crowds are done trampling it nightly. It's artificial turf but yeah even it will start to look raggedy before too long.

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Good job, Blake. It looks good. Now about that sign. . . Does it make sense that it says Plaza Garden East, but it's on the west side of the castle, and it's the West Fireworks FP+ area? I thought that's what that sign says, and tried to get a photo of it over the wall. But, I think someone goofed. TCD

Thanks for clearing that up. I was afraid guests might find the East/West designations confusing. I thought they referred to directions on the compass on not to D list celebrities. Lizzy on the "grass" That is seriously awesome. Lizzy gets First on the Fake Grass at the West FP+ Fireworks Viewing Area in the East Plaza Garden Bragging Rights! devores 382
Lizzy get first photo posted on the grass. Im sure she wasnt the first fiend on there though. I know someone who was on there before park open. Just saying. Standing in the hub by where the partners statue is supposed to be. This is the area near Crystal Palace. Note the touch points for FP+ The tech booth on the left is now missing a roof The whole area is refered to as Plaza Gardens. Then theres the east and west side of MS. The statues are back and surround this nice fountain Looking towards Crystal Palace Looking towards Caseys from the area by the Adventure land bridge. Note the ropes near the center of the photo. There are gates there that are open right now. Looks like when FP+ is being used the gates will be closed and the only way onto the grass area is through the touch points. This will be your view from this area. BradyBzLyn...Mo
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Great photos, Dave! I am glad to see that those statues didn't get thrown in the dumpster, and that fountain is really nice. TCD
devores 382
I didnt get photos of all of them, but this side had Goofy, Donald, Chipmunks, and Briar Rabbit. Im sure the other side will have the others. There should also be a matching fountain on the other side. BTW, the East side is still walled off as of today. devores 382
Do you know if the Partners statue is gone for good or just being moved? Its not going anywhere. They covered it to protect it during the construction of the area. They finally took that bench out that surrounds the statue and are putting up a railing to keep people from standing up there. Once the heavy construction is done, they should be let out of the box. BradyBzLyn...Mo

BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
So... you'll just need to go back off hours. I may never have gotten to see you on Main St. in the knickers, but I'd pay good money to see you making snow angels on the new Hub "grass." And then we can officially give you the "first grown-up Fiend on the new hub 'grass' " award. :rofl2:
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From the Disney Parks Blog... New Viewing Areas for Parades & Fireworks Debut at Magic Kingdom Parkposted on February 27th, 2015 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager Last year, we showed you a preview of the work that we’re doing to make one of our guests’ favorite areas at Magic Kingdom Park even better. Today we’re happy to share that several new sections of the Central Plaza area between Main Street U.S.A. and Cinderella Castle are now open. This marks the first milestone in our multi-phase project that will add in sculpted gardens, new pathways, and expanded restaurant seating. And beginning February 27, the FastPass+ viewing location will relocate from the the Rose Garden Fireworks Viewing Area to the Main Street Plaza Gardens (an area adjacent to The Crystal Palace). devores 382
East and west side of MS. Main Street runs north south. So the east side is the right side and west side is left side as you're looking at the castle. When you make FP+ reservations, you will be assigned either east or west viewing area. Can't use left or right side because that changes according to what direction you are approaching from. The feel they were going for is an old town park. East and west fits in with that olden day feel. BradyBzLyn...Mo
