jlf 7
Oh my goodness do I hate writing this post. We love love love Hollywood and Vine and especially if we have Fantasmic Dinner package. Even though I am. Not crazy how they have changed the seating for the show. Anyway back to dinner. We had dinner reservations at Hollywood and Vine for 7:00pm. Studios closed at 8:00 pm. The restaurant had closed down one side of the buffet line. They had closed down the pasta bar. So you could not build your pasta plate. The food that was being served was not fresh. Not that it tasted bad, They just weren't refilling the pans. They were already tearing down the dessert station and it was only 7:15. The waitress were cleaning up their stations. We felt like the great uncle who wasn't welcomed anyore. So my advice is if you are offered a reservation near the Park's closing, I would think twice, especially if it is a buffet
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Wow, that's a bummer. Sorry you had such a lousy experience but thanks for letting people know.
h2odivers...Ray 952
That SMB. Sorry you had such a bad experience.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Thanks for the tip, we've only done very early breakfast there when it's all new and fresh, always excellent...
kampfirekim 260
As a former server.... closing time is not a great time to expect good service. They're ready to go home and you are the only one standing in their way. Seriously, I'm sorry your experience wasn't stellar. For those prices it should have been. DaveInTN 3,247
It drives me nuts to pay full price for half service or half product.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
That SMB. We had a similar experience at TE when we arrived, but then they started refilling most things. An hour before closing should still have full pans, especially because I think they take ADRs up to 15-30 mins before park closing.
jlf 7
Thanks for the tip, we've only done very early breakfast there when it's all new and fresh, always excellent...Never done the breakfast. We have always enjoyed Hollywood and Vine without any problems. But again it's never been an hour before closing. We try to go to Hollywood and vine at least once a year. Beckers 1,136
We like it for early breakfast. Well, except poor DH has his breakfast interrupted for a fastpass run for Toy Story but I guess he won't have to anymore.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
We usually book the 8am breakfast, and finish up just before rope drop, and power walk toward Toy Story. That is usually on our last morning out the door. That gets us out the door in the morning, have a good breakfast, and on the road by 9:30.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
We did the dinner buffet as part of a Fantasmic package 2 years ago. We thought it was ... ok. Plenty of food and it was hot, but it just wasn't terribly good, especially for the price.
superloopers 2
We had lunch there In October 2013. The food was the best I ever remember it being. We are going to do the Fantasmic dinner package in September when we go back.
