mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
I have always thought there is a lot of vertical space wasted in my T@B. Apparently someone else does tooo. Talked to my dad tonite, and this is VERY doable.... Katman1356...Jason

mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
In that space now is........ with flip up lids on both sides. We put away the top cushion long ago, but even so, there is vertical space wasted, and the top of the bench is unusable, because you have to be able to flip up the lid(s). The extra storage would be a lot better use of space. Post some progress pix and the completed project when it's done. I'd love to see them.

Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Whoever did that mod did a good job. Do they use that porta-potty sitting on the drawer slide like that? Doesn't look like it would be a good idea to sit on it. TCD Lou... and Memphis 1
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
Yes, they do, it's got two large wheels underneath to support the weight
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Yes, they do, it's got two large wheels underneath to support the weight Oh- I can't see the wheels in the photo. Go right ahead, then. Make sure to lock the door first. TCD
Lou... 3,118
Go right ahead, then. I'm sure Carol's dad is breathing a sigh of relief now that you've ok'd it.

But, if those wheels weren't there- bad things could happen. That's a porta-potty on that shelf. TCD

That's a porta-potty on that shelf. If you look at the photo, you'll see a shadow underneath the Potty. I assumed that it was a support of some sort, because no one in their right mind, not even you, would build that with only the slides shown for support.Although you can buy extra heavy duty slides that will support the cantilevered load, and as long as the support structure that they're attached to is beefy enough, it's ok. mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
The extra heavy duty slides and the extra wood were way more expensive than normal heavy duty slides and two wheels :)

DaveInTN 3,247
I find it amusing that the 3 of you are carrying on a conversation regarding how much support is needed to keep someone sitting on the potty from falling onto the floor. TCD That's interesting, don't know how it happened.I only give up arrows in very extreme cases, and never any down arrows. Not even to you, but I've been tempted.
