CandJDisney..Chris/Jessie 4
Hi, I am buying a new fire pit for our trip January 16th-20th (Hope to see some fellow fiends!!!) are these fire pits both ok? I'm deciding between these two. Thanks!
Laura 17
Not an expert But I know I saw someone using one just like that on our trip in November.
CandJDisney..Chris/Jessie 4
Thanks Laura!
alexwyattmommy 181
Yours has a solid top, therefore it is within specification. With that said, we saw many unapproved pits being used. Many.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Those look about right, but you can check out the official flyer that the Fort hands out here...http://www.fortfiends.net/_/misc/approved-fire-pits-for-fort-wilderness-r57 If you scroll down the page in the comments, you'll see a nice color version also. CandJDisney..Chris/Jessie 4
Thanks. Just to be safe we will stay within the rules the fort has set for that. I will go ahead and get one of those while they are on sale. Thanks for the help everyone.
JaimeN 8
How strict are they about fire pits without the tops. We have the kind with the grate over the top. I'd hate to waste the money to buy the approved type just for this trip.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Well it's the Fort so, like all the rules at the Fort... it depends. Sometimes they are super strict about enforcement and other times not so much.
alexwyattmommy 181
The week of Thanksgiving, they were not strict. Not only where there fire pits with the round grated tops, there pits without lids at all and I am certain I saw one of those open fire ones that use the propane tank instead of wood.
