Judy in Texas 150
I'm a counter service sort of person. I've been checking out the WDW menus for my trip next week. I'm surprised to see that the side garden salads have been replaced at most of the counter service restaurants with caesar salads. Who thought that was a good idea? Not me, that's for sure. The only reason I can think they are doing this is to limit the type of salad dressings they have to stock. No salads for me. Bummer. :-[
Beckers 1,136
Oh I don't like that either. I'm a side salad not a Caesar type too. I like to have the option of a FF dressing or ranch. Not a fan of this move.
DaveInTN 3,247
I like either, but I don't think caesar salads are as versatile as a side garden salad....I like them with certain entrees but not all. For instance, with a burger I'd want a garden salad. In any case, I bet you are right, Judy, in that it reduces the need to stock multiple dressings.

momof3kids-Yvonne 596
My kids always order caesar salads when given a choice.I am fine with either. However, I want my dressing on the side and not poured all over the salad.
Katman1356...Jason 1,140
It also means less ingredients. No tomatoes and what not
alexwyattmommy 181
Dang, talk about cheaping out Disney. I am not fond of Caesar salad on warm days. Wonder if we can skip that and save money like with the chips?

Katman1356...Jason 1,140
I actually prefer Caesar salads as well. Just figured I would point another place they are saving.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Hang on a minute. Is this really a new change? Where were they serving garden salads? I can only think of one place where they served side salads- Pizza Planet in DHS- and that's been a small Caesar salad for as long as I can remember. FYI- at the quick serve places you can ask to just have the entrée, and they will deduct the price of the salad from your meal- usually around $2. TCD

TCD I used to get a pizza with a side garden salad at Pinochio Village House. I also think I was getting a side salad at Colonial Harbor House. That's where I would get the Ken's Country French dressing.

My guess is that they offer the side salads as an option at a lot of places but don't advertise it. It's all part of the conspiracy to screw TCD.

Your mention of Pinocchio Village Haus reminded me that we ate there in September- I didn't see any garden salads there. I know that they have packets of salad dressing at some of the restaurants for guests to use who are ordering the large salads, but still don't remember seeing a CS location serving a side garden salad any time in recent history. Grumpy and Grandma 740
Pinochhio house still has a Mediterranian (mixed greens) chicken salad so they still need dressing for that.

Momof6....aka Marty 769
Most Caesar salads have anchovies in the dressing, which those with seafood allergies :wave1: cannot have.
DaveInTN 3,247
Most good Caesar salads have anchovies in the dressing, which those with seafood allergies :wave1: cannot have. . But that is probably not a problem with Disney salads. I added some words in bold to your post.
alexwyattmommy 181
I'm thinking there are no anchovies or anything resembling anchovies in their salads.
ftwildernessguy 778
If I were to, due to an illness affecting my brain and altering my thought processes, order a salad at WDW, it would be a Ceasar salad. It has cheese and a tangy high calorie dressing made with a raw egg. Why are we wasting valuable band width on some lettuce issues? Now, if they were replacing the delicious fried chicken in the GAG with tofu, that would be thread worthy. Carry on.
