Nicki aka Rebelstand 272 Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Share Posted October 19, 2013 The story goes like this- Shawn found on the Disney Park Blog a very limited time contest entry to do a Castle Tour at Magic Kingdom. It was open for only about 3 hours. Mo had sent me one for Everest but i'd missed the entry by 30 minutes so I jumped on entering this one. Never thinking I would win (I never win stuff) but within hours, while shopping at the Muppets Souvenir shop in DHS, I received confirmation via email that I had been selected. My instructions were to be at MK and checked in between 7:30-8:00am on Friday. I didn't shout it from the roof tops because, well what if I overslept/was delusional/missed the transpo to get me there in time/etc. I was petrified I would miss this. This is actually why at the first sign of sickness I ran to the nearest clinic. I.WAS.NOT.MISSING.THIS. I would wear a hazmat suit before i didn't go. I set my alarm for 5:15 and made Shawn set his for 5:30. The next morning at 6:05am (usually a 8:45-9 am getting out of bed), I walked out the door. No buses this early so I had to walk, you'd be surprised though at how many people are up and about- Waiting for my magical transport- The boat finally came and I had a nice quiet (except for the engine) on a resort boat all to myself. Bay lake is quiet tranquil at this hour of the morning. My first stop was - I am sure there was a reason for taking this picture but I have no clue what- (BTW, the concierge here needed a Snarky Card) Now I was going to do something I had never done. Walk from the Contemp to the MK- Checking in- They gave us, even if we didn't need it, a one day park ticket which we had to use for entry into the park. Yes, the watched to make sure we used it. Finally it's 8 am. They split us into two groups of 10 and we headed out. Already too crowded on Main Street for a clear pic- Next Up - A tour of Fantasyland and we besiege the first castle Quote Link to post Share on other sites
