Tri-Circle-D 2,059
I have never seen a covered bridge in Florida. I guess the guy pulling that trailer hadn't either. Until now. TCD
DaveInTN 3,247
It's not like that bridge was difficult to see or anything....or the sign wasn't big enough. And it is inside a residential neighborhood, so you would assume the person that hit it would be familiar with it. Maybe it happened in the dark. At least no one was hurt. Retired and Happy (Ken) 101
Why would anyone build a residential covered bridge for vehicular traffic with just a 6'6" clearance? My van would not fit under it...especially now. :rofl2:

There's no reason to have a covered bridge in Florida. And certainly no reason to build one with such low clearance. TCD

Grumpy and Grandma 740
They just announced that the bridge was over 50 years old. The driver admitted he "forgot" he had the trailer. DUMB!!!
AuburnJen 777
how can you forget you have a trailer?
Retired & Tired (Judy) 90
They can move the bridge to my back yard. I have always wanted one. I love them but not good for trying to get something tall through it.We have one parking garage at Egleston Children's Hospital here in Atlanta that our van will not fit in. And in the newer parking garage, it is not possible to get it onto all the levels. Hello...it is a children's hospital where at least 60% of the parents have handicapped accessible vans....where are we supposted to park?
LONE-STAR 370
6'6" would have hit my truck before it even got to the trailer.
