Now that the original Dumbo is closed to begin the move to its new home in Storybook Circus, the race is on to complete this area to restore a working Dumbo for park guests. This part of Storybook Circus will be the first phase of the new Fantasyland to open to guests. Lou... 3,118
I don't know how reliable and where WDWmagic got that Feb date, but as of Jan 6, official Disney sources were saying that the date was "to be determined". That same source is now saying Feb 12th.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
Not really sure but they seem to have an "inside source" - just not sure how credible it is. Of all the sites I check online, they are usually at least a day ahead of the rest for stuff like this.
Lou... 3,118
I think it's someone that has access to THE HUB. Most of the stuff that WDWmagic reports is buried in the pages for the attractions. That's almost a full time job, to browse the hundreds of pages for all the attractions and check the operation dates. It's all there, you just have to find it.
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
I think you might be right. And if that's the case, whoever it is must comb through it almost every single day.Hope they're paying them well!
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From WDW News Today... New Details on the Casey Jr. Roundhouse in Storybook CircusJan 19, 2012 by wdwntadmin No Comments Posted under: The Magic KingdomWhile the new Disney Vacation Planning DVD didn’t offer much new information on New Fantasyland, there was one interesting piece of concept art and a new description for one of the smaller additions:“The Casey Jr. water play area will feature water squirting from playful monkeys, elephants, and camels as Casey lets off billows of nice, cool steam.”From the look of the concept art provided, guests will get to pose for photos with Casey Jr. in the midst of a wild water play area. While it may not be an E-ticket, the attention to character detail shown in the concept art has us pretty excited for this little corner of Storybook Circus.http://wdwnewstoday.com/archives/8576
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
From Mouse Steps... Written by Denise Wednesday, 18 January 2012 Hi everyone! I'm sure everyone knows now that President Obama will be speaking at the Magic Kingdom tomorrow. I don't know if we'll even try to head there yet (it's not a public speech). We just put up an article today talking about when George Bush Sr. and Hilary Clinton paid separate visits to the parks. The view with a zoom lens (my Canon camera has a 35x optical/140x digital zoom) is exceptional of the new Fantasyland from the Contemporary Resort. Beast's Castle, Gaston's Tavern, the Little Mermaid show building and more can be seen from here. We have new videos that include the Master Sorcerer Level/Game Completion of Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom, as well as of Fantasyland from Disney's Contemporary Resort. http://www.mousesteps.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=745&Itemid=
DaveInTN 3,247
When you look at the pictures just above of the Beast's castle, it is amazing how small it actually is. Look at the ladder propped up against it. They are doing a good job of using scale to make it look much larger and "in the distance" than it really is. We noticed that in person in November...there were men working on it on scaffolding and they were almost as big as the castle.

New this week is what appears to be signage over the entrance to "Scuttle's Scavenger Hunt", along with some blue areas on the rock-work, which may well be the areas that will see the much hoped-for waterfalls as seen on the concept art. On the far right of the building there is even more steel structure being put up, which seems to suggest the building will grow even larger than it currently is.
