GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Our cruise leaves out of Port Canaveral on a Sunday. We plan to leave Saturday morning and drive down. That should get us there mid-afternoon. I'd like a fairly nice hotel with a pool and perhaps a restaurant just to make our lives easy. I know I can check online, but any personal recommendations or places to avoid?
Beckers 1,136
The campground on the jetty in tcd's report, is that port canavrel? I swore he said cabins were cheap and on the beach?
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
It's just for a night though, so I'm thinking a hotel would be easiest. If we were staying longer, I'd do the cabins for sure!
Grumpy and Grandma 740
Our son and family stayed in Cocoa Beach, I'm waiting for him to get back to me with the name. Some have parking deals cheaper than the Port and they take you to the ship.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
That would be great. Thanks!
We4mickey 6
We stayed at the four points sheraton. I honestly don't know if there was a pool there or not, as we arrived rather late and left early the next morning. The rooms were very nice. Half of the hotel is a beach store and they did have a restaurant and starbucks there.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
I second the four points sheraton, we stayed there the same night We4mickey did. It includes parking for the cruise, and they shuttle you to the cruise terminal. It is right next door to Ron Jons, and a short walk to the beach.
GaDawgFan.....Kelly 799
Thanks! I'll check it out.
Brent... Just Brent 83
I second the four points sheraton, we stayed there the same night We4mickey did. It includes parking for the cruise, and they shuttle you to the cruise terminal. It is right next door to Ron Jons, and a short walk to the beach. I also assume they shuttle you back? And it's not one of those on the hour shuttles? I saw a giant billboard for them on I-95 yesterday advertising the parking. Sounds like a great choice.
mouseketab.....Carol 1,261
No the shuttle is waiting on you when you disembark, it is dedicated for the hotel. It did take two shuttles worth when we left as there were a lot of us on this particular cruise, and we had an ECV on board which took more room.
Brent... Just Brent 83
Thanks! I think that's what I'll book. The parking is a huge selling point.
Brent... Just Brent 83
PS - Just saw the cost of parking at the Port. It's the same as the hotel cost. Well worth it all of a sudden for the 7-day cruise.
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
GDF- If you stay at Cocoa Beach, remember to bring Z's boogie board. But be careful, there are real waves on the Florida east coast. TCD
mikmouse 3
Enjoy your cruise! Off topic, but does anyone know if there is wi-fi at Port Canaveral? My SIL wants to take her Itouch and photos before we leave on our cruise, and was wondering about wi-fi. Thanks.
