AC in A2......Aaron 693
Okay so it's not a spider exactly: Now we are walking back to the front of the complex to check out one of the education centers: Back outside for a few more pics: That's it for the Howell Nature Center. Next we will head to a local eatery for some pood forn!
AC in A2......Aaron 693
Here we have arrived at a local establishment called the Zukey Lake Tavern:DW's chicken salad which she said was really good:My burger and fries which were de-lish:The kids both chose chicken fingers and fries:After dinner I ordered something that caught my eye as soon as I sat down and saw the menu.....called dessert nachos. When our unimpressed to have a job, slow-moving turtle-like, blah attitude of a waitress finally came back, I ordered the dessert nachos. She then asked if I wanted a small or large.I then asked what the difference was (while using me hands to gesture that I wanted her to show me the size difference). She clearly didn't pick up the hand signal or didn't care. She stoically stated, "The portion size."Thanks!I ordered the small which was plenty:It may be hard to tell just how much awesomeness is located on that platter of awesomeness so I will tell you what was included:Cinnamon/Sugar tortilla chips (warm)StrawberriesWhipped CreamWalnutsCaramel SauceDark Chocolate GanacheWhite ChocolateWalnutsThe sheer amount of yummy goodness on that platter was worth the trip. Thanks for hanging out while I showed you the Howell Nature Center and a bit of local pood forn.Until next time. Peace be with you.

AC in A2......Aaron 693
Very cool place. Loving the TR so far. Awesome! The coyote yapping freaks me out a bit. Only because we camped in our hybrid a few times in upstate NY and heard that sound in the middle of the night... a bit too close for comfort. Thanks for checking it out Mo! I love the coyotes and bobcats. I have seen both in the wild several times and it is cool each time. In fact, my son, nephew, and I snuck up on a coyote in the woods "up north" on Friday. it was a biggun'.

kampfirekim 260
Love the report! The nature center looks like a wonderful place! I agree that the bobcat photos are great but my fave is the raccoon with the cracker jack box. :rofl2: Our family has plenty of raccoon stories from our years growing up camping. Do you realize how hard it was not to make a Red Fox joke? It was hard. AC in A2......Aaron
Tri-Circle-D 2,059
Great job, Aaron. Some of the stories that are posted with the animals are sad. I think that in cases of abuse or neglect, the humans involved should be caged next to the animals. Dessert nachos? Never heard of them, but the idea is genius! Thanks for taking the time to share your photos and write the report. I never would have known about this place if you hadn't. TCD AC in A2......Aaron

Great report. It is good to do educational things with our kids that are still fun. The dessert looks pretty yummy too. I agree. We like to work these little trips in here and there. We are regulars at the public library too. I also don't like the designated hitter or the wild card in baseball. A true throwback. Great report!I think I gained 5 pounds just looking at the dessert picture. I could go for more right now. It was very good. That was a chicken salad.. A whole chicken with the salad...
