Haven't seen official Disney confirmation yet, but Inside the Magic is reporting on the upcoming Limited Time Magic...

As part of Limited Time Magic, Walt Disney World is expanding their Fourth of July celebration to an entire week, featuring nightly fireworks at the Magic Kingdom for seven days. Independence Week will take place July 1-7, 2013 featuring a patriotic extravaganza across multiple theme parks.

At Magic Kingdom, a 15-minute 360-degree fireworks spectacular will rocket into the air every night with ”Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.” Also part of the daily festivities will be Goofy, Donald and Pluto leading a spirited procession down Main Street, U.S.A, prior to the daily Celebrate a Dream Come True parade. The pre-parade will feature the Main Street Philharmonic, Citizens of Main Street and Walt Disney’s historic horse-drawn calliope. Patriotic-themed merchandise and tasty treats inspired by Americana will also be on the menu all week long.

Then on July 4th only, Epcot and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will join in the Independence Day celebration.

At Epcot, guests will be able to meet with Disney characters adorned in patriotic dress and witness a patriotic performance by the Voices of Liberty at 12:30 p.m. in the America Gardens Theatre, also featuring the Spirit of America Fife and Drum Corps and Disney characters. The day culminates with The Heartbeat of Freedom, a special fireworks tribute following IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at 10 p.m.

Characters in patriotic dress are on set from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and from 3:30 – 6 p.m. outside near Kidcot (under the porte-cochere). Voices of Liberty showtimes at America Gardens Theatre are 12:30, 1:45, and 3 p.m. They are also doing two sets inside the American Adventure Rotunda at 4:15 and 5 p.m. Special showtimes for Slippery When Wet (Sounds Like Summer concert series) on the Fourth of July are 5:15, 6:30, 7:45, and 9 p.m.

At Disney Hollywood Studios, the all-new “Rockin’ 4th of July Celebration” will begin at the Sorcerer Hat with a DJ at 6 pm, followed by performances by Mulch, Sweat & Shears at 7, 8, 9 and 10 p.m. and a fireworks presentation at 10:15 p.m.

I can't find a link, but I recall them announcing this week long fireworks thing and the Friday the 13th DHS Villains Dance Party when they first announced the LTM promotion.

I see that the quote you posted mentions that the historic calliope will be in use at the MK. This is not something I have heard before.  That would be cool to see.

  • 3 weeks later...

Official schedule from the Disney Parks Blog...

It’s almost time to kick off our weeklong celebration of America’s birthday at Disney Parks. So, we thought we’d share a quick reminder of what’s planned beginning on Monday at the Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort.

Yes, next week is the week to see amazing fireworks on both coasts. Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort will be saluting our nation’s birth with “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” — a fireworks spectacular that rockets into the air every night during Independence Week.

  • Magic Kingdom Park – The fireworks spectacular takes place at 9 p.m. on July 3 and 4, and 10 p.m. on July 1, 2, 5, 6 and 7.
  • Disneyland park – The fireworks spectacular will be held each night at 9:30 p.m. during Independence Week – July 1-7.

Every evening at the Disneyland Resort, you can also wear a pair of illuminated Mouse Ears and “Glow with the Show” during performances of “Celebrate America!” and the patriotic pre-show to “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure park.

Also, expect to see plenty of patriotic merchandise available across the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts, including red, white and blue Mickey T-shirts and plush, trading pins, light-up star necklaces and patriotic Duffy the Disney Bear costumes.

There is much more planned at the parks, and we included some of the details in our earlier Independence Week story.

Check back here later today to see Pam Brandon’s story featuring some of the treats on the menu from July 1-7.
