I call shenanigans. is there a vacuum smilie? So what happened to him? Sounds like they escorted him out of the park to his car, but that's all. I think he's still welcome to come back - his gun, not so much. Bets on how quickly the "no firearms" signs go up at the park entrances?

ftwildernessguy 778
Yeah, signs. That's the answer. I have a big sign in my waiting room placed so you can't help but see the thing, It says "While in our office, please turn off your cell phone." I paid a lot for that sign. Know how many people turn off their cell phones? If you said none, you are right. I don't think they even realize you can turn the things off.

h2odivers...Ray 952
I was going to leave this topic alone. But since everyone is commenting I think I will also. Yes the guy made a mistake, a big big big one, it just really surprises me how quickly everyone wants to bash this guy. Again. HE SCREWED UP AND HE WAS EXTREMELY IRRESPONSIBLE. But I know that I am a very responsible concealed carry person. I've never lost my weapon. But I must admit that I've broken a few laws with my weapon.Example. My wife is the special Ed director at our school and I've had to run by her school to bring her something. And yes I forgot to unload my weapon, off property, place the weapon in my locked trunk or glove box. Separately from the ammo, and carried it onto school property. So I guess that every one of you and your friends who have a concealed permit have never made the mistake of bringing your weapon into an unauthorized place before. By the way we talked about what to do if you happen to do just such a thing in my concealed carry class.I guess that guy and myself are the only two people that have ever messed up. Again. HE SCREWED UP ROYALLY. I'm just glad no one, who has commented on this post, has ever screwed up some how or some way and put someone else's life at risk.

Spinner...Ben 1
The guy is a bonehead. I agree, but signs that say "No guns allowed" only pertain to good guys. I'm not sure Disney wants to advertise the fact that all patrons are defenseless targets, even if that is their policy. That being said, I feel pretty safe there. As safe as I can feel among thousands of people. I'm not a big fan of crowded public venues, but the kids love The Mouse. Spinner
pezheadval 32
This makes me think of Mad Eye Moody in Order of The Phoenix telling people not to but wands in their back pocket because they could blow their butts off. hahaha
BradyBzLyn...Mo 2,023
The most danger you're likely to be in at WDW is getting run down by a rogue ECV or hummer-sized stroller. Although I suppose if you're riding the tea cups with Nicki or Nicole you're also in danger of the thing flying off and launching into orbit... I feel pretty safe there. magnoliafig 51
I've carried a time or two when I legally shouldn't have. I've left my permit in one wallet and forgot to swap it to a new one. I'll be damned if that stops me when I'm traveling late at night alone and I have to enter a convenience store. So I do understand you Ray. And I agree mostly. But this guy hit an extremely hard limit with me. He carried in a way that his firearm was not secure. In a place that is surrounded by very young children. He couldn't have done any worse if he threw a gun into a kindergarten class full of kids. His mistake wasnt to bring it into Disney. His mistake was not maintaining control over hs firearm in an extremely risky area. That is a huge deal. Now I will say this. I have very few black and white areas in my life. Child safety is one of them. I'm rabidly fanatic about it. But IMO he should have hs license suspended.
magnoliafig 51
I am all for the right to carry. But, this guy should have been more responsible. A loaded gun should not just be stuck in his pocket. He should have had it harnessed.Bingo!I do occasionally pocket carry. They have actual pocket holsters. But that's a walk in, walk out situation. My mall is ground zero for violence during weekends and nights but I'm still leery during the day. If I'm getting something from Sephora, I go on, get it, get out. They're decent for women who purse carry but when they're in riskier areas, they can swap quickly to on-their-person access. That's most of us too. But daily all day carry, most carry via law enforcement methods. Inner or outer waistband. The gun is extremely secure for a reason.

Although I suppose if you're riding the tea cups with Nicki or Nicole you're also in danger of the thing flying off and launching into orbit...Our firearm never leaves the truck when we are at Disney. I know there are many places where people don't expect violence and violence happens... But...There are so very few places that are magical and special. It goes against everything rational to say it will never happen at Disney but sometimes... Sometimes you have to have faith and live like a kid. Saying I feel unsafe at Disney takes away everything that makes it special. Short of federal buildings and schools, it's one of the single few places we actively do not carry. mikeymouse1 25
The art of concealment is concealment. He was wrong for loosing control of his weapon. I carry almost all the time but there are places where I do not a Disney park being one of them. There is enough undercover security there that if I drew a weapon in a situation one of them would probably dispatch me and the problem
