The Enforcer Fairies are out!
jlf replied to jlf's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
He does have a bad boy. I was nervous when he bought it. But since I have seen more of these types in the past, I thought maybe they changed the rules. They don't even put it in the welcome packact anymore. I asked him agiain today about what happened. Security is the one who ticketed him. He went inside. Told the CM that this is practical for him. He has a older dog and he can throw baby stroller in the bed. The CM said show me where the plug for the electric. He did. CM said I will put a note and disregard any more tickets. Everything was fine. Today we saw a motorized skateboard. -
We have left our Sophie at Best Friends while we went on a Disney Cruise. We have also left her there for 6 hours. Although we leave her in our RV when we are at the Ft and go to the parks, I can not say enough good things about Best Friends. They are such warm and loving people. The place is immaculate. Best Friends is clean and odorless. You can not tell there are pets being boarded. Except for the occasional barking. Did you know Best Friends boards all kinds of pets. From snakes and birds to big dogs. They also have web cams on the suites. What we did before we went on the cruise is drop i

Be aware, the enforcer fairies are out. Most of the time I welcome people to be called out when they don't follow the rules. My husband and I play this little game of "how many people can you put on a golf cart" as a golf cart goes by with 10 people are riding with a stroller tied to the SIDE of the golf cart. I kid you not. But the other night after a long day at Animal Kingdom, he went to retrieve his golf cart up at the front gc parking corral. On his windshield was a ticket written by the enforcer fairies. They told him his gc was illegal. He went inside and was told that gas powered gc are

Hi Carol, if you are talking about the one you can get out and walk around and also see from the street, yes they are there. Beautiful as ever!

When I went to make my reservation for Dec 2015, I wanted to reserve two, one for me and one for my son. Wanted to do one so we would be in the same loop, My TA said I could only reserve one and my son would have his own. But they would be linked so we would be together. We are here now and we are next to each

Apple core allowed in park?
jlf replied to mastergracey's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
My hubby had his favorite pocket knife taken away when security first started. He was allowed to retrieve it when leaving the park. But cast member did say that they weren'tt guranteeing getting it back. He hasn't carried it since. Side note. I guess with everything going on in France, security has been a lot more thorough. I just feel they need to restrict the number and size of bags -
I don't think it will make a difference. Last 4 years we have been coming the second week after thanksgiving. They had to have traffic guards up by the settlement. Last year it was like it is now.

This is so sad

This is probably somewhere I just haven't found it. So I apologize for repeat. But where are all the Christmas decorations? We have always told our friends how the Ft doesn't have to decorate, guest take care of it like no other. We come every December for last 15 years and have added quite a collection of inflateles. Nothing like the sites that were in 700 loop. Traffic had to be controlled. Last year were fewer but now hardly anything. We are here now but we feel more of the minority then the majority. What gives. So sad

WiFi coming to the Fort ...someday?
jlf replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We are here now and I don't have wifi. But in the 1200 loop, my hubby says there is a new telephone pole put up Today, saw a cast member walking around with a clip board looking up at the trees, then making notes Possible more poles or which trees to take out. -
After all that going back and forth, this morning I decided to call the front desk. Spoke to a wonderful CM name Dave. Asked me my site, made sure of my last name, told me I had a $35 credit. Said everything was done and there was no reason to come upfront. I guess it is who you talk to. So all that going back and forth for nothing. But thank you everyone for the help and suggestions.

Ok, so we decided to wait till later to go up front to cancel Sunday's reservations. I went in it was very quiet. CM came out and after I explained what I wanted to do, he advised me to come back in the morning. He said things might get crossed and it would show we were off the site and someone may come in early and be knocking on our door. Which by the way I have had people waiting in the road till we had left. How they were even allowed back to the loop I don't know. Another time another story. So I will be going up front after I pack up

this is what I thought. But in the past when I went to cancel, they (Disney) wouldn't touch it. So I went to my TA first, and the instructions about texting her after I have left the site came from Disney themselves when she called. Seems like the Carosel of progress and I can't get off. Lol!!

Last year we had to cut our trip short because my husband was called backed to work. So I called central reservations. At first they could not find my resv. They then realized that I had a TA. She said Disney can not touch a resv. done by a TA. She would have to do it. My TA took care of that then. So then yesterday I contacted my TA to cancel the two days. After my TA told me about going to front I called central resv. The girl sounded like she was 15 and a trainee. She placed me on hold. Came back and told me I had to go up front. Then wait for it, wait for it she hung up on me! I didn't ge

Okay all I gave my TA all the suggestions everyone gave. She was able to get 12/7-11/15. I will take what I can get. Other than the year they redid all the loops, about 6 or 7 yrs ago, I have always been lucky. December is a long way off. So I know a lot can happen. Thank you everyone and we will see you in December. We are checking out tomorrow

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this before, but this is brand new to me. Right now we are at the Ft. We usually stay 10 days in Dec. and March of every year. But since we did a Disney Cruise, staying 10 days was going to put us too close to returning to work. So I contacted my TA to handle canceling Sat and Sun. She informs me that what I have to do is, on the day we want to leave,be off the site by 11 am. I then need to go to the front desk. On the way I have to either text my TA so she can call the front desk. So later on I looked at my husband and said, what if they charge us for not

@Brady...... II did the same at 2 am this morning. Gave me dates 12/6-12/15. I didn't book it cuz I am a little lery of the Ft's wifi. It also was like buying something with a shopping cart and everything. So this morning 8 hours later. It wasn't there. This is crazy that people are "holding" dates. Must be TAs who need it for people who want to come on the weekend for MVMCP. How can you make plans?

Does anyone know what is going on that there are no reservations at the Fort for the first week of December? We go every year at this time, sometimes the beginning of the second week. But this year my TA can't get reservations. Theast time this happened was when they were redoing all the loops. Any ideas or suggestions?

Two months and two days till our March 3, 2015 cruise aboard the Dream. It will be a 5 day 4 night cruise with a stop at Nassau, Castaway Cay, day at sea, with Pirate night and fireworks on the last night. The 5 days seem very short. We are planning for our 20th anniversary to do the Alaskan Cruise. Can not wait for 3/2015 and for 3/2022

Cruising in July 2016 and need advice on mobility
jlf replied to Katman1356...Jason's topic in Cruises
Definitely get the accessible room. Just the door alone makes it worth it. We have taken 2 Dream cruises. The first one we had a stateroom with veranda. I use crutches 24/7, and even though getting around the cabin could have been worse. My husband had a hard time holding the door open and me trying to exit. Not to mention I had a hard time getting in and out of the tub. The second cruise in 2013, I requested an accessible room and we were on the back of the ship. The room was wonderful. Especially the door is large and I believed opened automatically. In March, we are going on our 3rd Dream c -
We have 2 Iphone 4s and we have found inside our RV, service would be in and out. For my laptop my hubby got me a Virgin MIFi. The service is wonderful. Good part about the Virgin is I don't have to pay a monthly subscription to use it. When I go to the Ft, I just activate it and it is good for a month.Unless I go over.

I know this has been answered. But we have been busy. We are annual FW guest every year at Christmas. What is going on? Hardly anyone has decorated. Even the hayrides aren't. Someone said the usual a are not here are they not coming

Sorry haven't been here for awhile. My new grandson has been very sick since birth. And of course a new puppy. But back to topic. I totally agree. Do you remember when NO Gasoline type engines were allowed? No scooters skates. There is nothing worse than sitting in your GC watching the water parade, and a noisy smelly overgrown machine pulls up and people that have been partying interrupt a nice quiet evening.
