  1. That would be news to cast members. As far as I know, nobody was ever given notification that the Fort pool was open to Cast members. My wife worked where they handled the Mickey Retreat reservations and stuff, and they never were told the Fort was open to the cast. Perhaps some of the cast members use it because it is one of the easiest to get into, but I don't think that is officially allowed any more than the use of any other resort pool. As was posted above, Mickeys Retreat is used for CMs.
  2. I was in the 200 loop the same time period. Had a strong signal for Chip and Dale as well. I assumed it was a camper, but who knows.
  3. We were at Disney Springs yesterday. When we were heading to get on the Fort Wilderness bus, we were asked if we were staying there. They said they were checking Magic Bands to all Magic Kingdom area resorts because the Magic Kingdom was at capacity.
  4. You must be reading my mind. :) We've been here since Christmas Eve and it is really getting out of hand. There was a cart with about 5 or so guys in their late teens/early 20s flying around the loops making a lot of noise, blowing their horn, blaring their radio. They drove off t J e road and into a bush, got out to pull the cart out and took off. Kids of all ages driving. We were talking to someone who has been coming since the train was here and they are getting sick of it. They said it is getting out of control. Someone is going to get hurt or worse. We've heard skidding golf carts on our
  5. It is a nice walk, and they do provide a bus between the Settlement and the Lodge. That's a good alternative.
  6. While walking from the Fort to Wilderness Lodge today, my wife and I were almost flattened by a Wildman driving a cart back to the Fort very quickly. On the Wilderness Lodge side, the only signs we saw saying no carts were at the entrance to the now closed nature trails. However once you get to the Lodge, I'm not sure where you can take a cart. There are signs at the Fort near the settlement stopping golf carts before the start of the trail.
  7. We enjoyed walking past your site. Love the decorations.
  8. That innkeeper was quite a character. Loved the similarity to the Cantina Bar. Interesting thought about Leia saving Hans at that moment; but how? I want Hans to come back in the next episode so I'm searching for hope. My daughter didn't get why I was so mad about him getting killed. I think he was the perfect tie in back to when I was 17 and seeing the first movie. Plus, Harrison Ford did a great job of bringing the personality back.
  9. My daughter, who is a real Star Wars Geek, is convinced Phasma will return to be a major character. I'm not sure. She and her husband saw the whole Star Wars marathon Thursday, from 4AM until 9:30PM, and then saw The Force Awakens with my wife and I on Friday at noon.
  10. That is a great explanation. I'll have to impress my daughter with that one (with the TCD copyright of course). :)
  11. I too think Rey is Luke's daughter. We were discussing if she could be Hans daughter but figured since they didn't speak of her it wouldn't make sense. However, could she be a descendant of Obi Wan (great niece, whatever)? Also, what showed me what a good movie this is was how mad I got when Hans was killed (?). I was so angry it almost spoiled the movie. I think Hans is dead since Leia sensed it happened. However, I wouldn't be surprise if he makes an appearance similar to Obi Wan and Darth Vadar after their deaths. The question I have is how did Rey know to command the stormtroop
  12. Glad I wasn't at this showing: http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/482693/Horrified-Star-Wars-fans-scream-as-ending-SPOILED-by-dodgy-projector
  13. Agree. I thought it was terrific. Even my wife, who does not always go for this type of movie thought it was great and was reacting during the whole movie. Can't wait for the next one.
  14. Latest I heard is soft opening scheduled for 14 - 15 December and full opening 16 December. Subject to change of course. :)
  15. Faxing does work. We get one of our requested sites about 75% of the time, but there have been times they mention something we are coming in to celebrate, like anniversary, birthday, etc.
  16. That would not surprise me as even now during high crowd times, the cast has to park in the parking garage. That garage is probably still underutilized after the closing of animation. Some people have moved into the Animation building from particularly Team Disney, but there must be room in the garage since the cast has to park there sometimes anyway.
  17. The one aspect of Magic Kingdom that contributes to this is the fact it is more complicated to get to work. This has more of an impact if you are running a bit late. When my wife moved from the Magic Kingdom to Studios, she never missed having to park her car, wait for the bus, ride the bus, and then walk the tunnel to get to work. When she got to Studios, she just parked her car and walked in. While she enjoyed Magic Kingdom, she never missed that aspect. If some of these people were placed at resort restaurants, they may have really liked the relaxed pace. My wife worked at the Poly an
  18. No I don't, but I wish I did. The building was just turned over to the restaurant itself, so that is the end of my friend's involvement. By the time I could find out, it will probably be published elsewhere. Looking forward to Liberty Tree again. That was another tough fight to get done. Also, some extra work there since a good portion of the existing staff elected to stay where they were temporarily assigned, resulting in needing to train a significant portion of the staff while getting used to the new kitchen, etc. It got done though. Did a search and found this: Here is what we
  19. The "source" is a friend of mine very closely involved since the inception. He also suggested waiting a while before trying the restaurant because the restaurant is large, the kitchen new, and it will take a while to get everything running smoothly. That said, he also told me the restaurant looks great.
  20. Really, all of the sites on the 100 and 200 loops are nice, especially the ones on the outside. They can be tight though if you have a large rig. In the 200 loop, I would avoid site 236, since that is right next to the basketball court.
  21. It is looking like the new restaurant may be having a soft opening starting the week of December 6th. Full operation is slated to start December 16th, but that may change.
  22. Saw the lights last night. With it Sunday, we figured the crowds would be lower and headed over. Studios was crowded, but the people walking through the lights moved fairly well and it was not too bad. The lights looked good, but I mentioned to my wife I don't think I'll miss seeing them next year. I also wondered what that area will look like next year at this time. :)
