  1. The weather must have factored into the lack of crowds. We'll go sometimes after work and at best, it is crowded. Usually it is packed. Stopped at Earl of Sandwich for dinner after work last week and only a few spots were left in the garage, and those were on the roof. I am really surprised how crowded it is getting.
  2. We drove through there in September, when we drove from Florida to Townsend, TN. The people through Atlanta don't want to give anybody a break. I needed to move one lane to the right as I near the I-75 lanes north of Atlanta, and my turn signal seemed to be an indicator for people to speed up and block me in. Finally, one nice person blocked traffic so I could get over. Coming home, we sat in traffic Southbound, losing an hour or so as an accident blocked all northbound lanes and everybody heading south had to look. The northbound traffic jam was mind boggling. That made me want to avoid
  3. Our first ones were from 1996 and purchased at the Polynesian for Disney's 25th anniversary. At the time, they were unlimited use regardless of where you were staying. In fact, we had a manager at Captain Cookes ask us if we were interested. We told him that we lived in the area so we were not overnight guests at the resort. He said that was fine, these cups were not time limited but were only good at the Polynesian. We ended up with cups from the Polynesian, Grand Floridian, Port Orleans and Wilderness Lodge, each purchased after confirming with the location that we could bring those cup
  4. I am getting ready to replace the tires on my 2009 Ram 1500. I currently have P265/70R17 tires on the Ram. I've towed my Camplite 21BHS over 7,000 miles and it tows great. My inclination is to stick with P tires because I really like the ride of the Ram when not towing. Also, there is a bit of "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thinking going on here. However, I don't know if the additional benefits towing with LT tires would outweigh any change in ride comfort.Has anybody made the change to LT (or use LT tires) and if so, what did you find? I'm trying to weight the pros and cons of each,
  5. My wife and I were at Magic Kingdom on Friday, 4 March. We had a great lunch at Liberty Tree, but as we walked past the Crystal palace I noticed the sign said Breakfast and Dinner. Taking a closer look, I saw that Breakfast goes to 11:30, and now dinner starts at 11:30. So lunch is now the same price as dinner, and has the additional food that dinner had. This may have been mentioned already, but I didn't see it. Figured I'd pass it along for those planning. I don't know if this is permanent or not. The My Disney Experience app still shows a lunch menu.
  6. The cast main entrance passes are blocked out from Animal Kingdom April 19 - 30. No other parks are blocked during that time. This would explain why.
  7. I haven't tried it, but it does look good. In the Android store, it has a rating of 4.8 out of 5.
  8. My wife and daughter ate there in January. They loved it. Had a table next to the window, like it seems you did, and enjoyed watching the fireworks. My daughter forced my wife to try the truffle soup and she said it was amazing, (but VERY expensive). Glad you enjoyed it as well.
  9. I'll have to check this place out. How is the traffic around the campground? I know Pigeon Forge itself can get very busy.
  10. We'll miss you in April, as we will be there in May for Mother's Day. However, we do have reservations for October 13th - 19th for my wife's birthday and almost 1 year anniversary of her retiring from Disney. :)
  11. Nacole, I walked past your site this past Christmas in the 100 loop (we were in the 200 loop). You certainly were close to the marina and the Settlement (can't get much closer). Actually, my wife and I were going to stop when we saw you there, but you and your husband were busy packing up to leave so we didn't want to interrupt. In any case, we normally sty in the 200 loop, along the woods, and the EWP can be fairly loud as is the fireworks. We can also hear the horns of the golf carts, but probably not to the degree you must have based on your previous location. We love staying in the 20
  12. We really liked Big Meadows Family Campground in Townsend. Easy drive to Pigeon Forge.
  13. I don't think so. I would put it in the same category as the power line pole down where I-4 and World Drive meet. Not hidden, and just done for the purpose of incorporating the icon. Still pretty nice though. :)
  14. That is an interesting angle on the whole subject. Never thought of it that way.
  15. We just got back from Downtown Disney this morning. There is a good size opening now in the side of the building, pretty much in the area facing the camera in this picture (I think).
  16. Definitely not from the road, just drove by there today. You may be able to from the monorail, I haven't thought to look.
  17. Correct; no Thunder Mountain and no Splash Mountain. Only the old small train station (the red one) would have been nearby.
  18. The one place I always remember is the Blue Bayou. That was my favorite.
  19. You may want to avoid 236, which is near the comfort station but also right next to the basketball court. On the other hand, you may find that a positive, so that's up to you. 201 is right next to the comfort station.
  20. Good post. In addition there may be other factors such as changes to the land being required to accommodate structures within flood plains, drainage changes, etc. The regulations that must be addressed could make clearing and re-grading the land the best approach.
  21. Why not wait to see what the final result will be? It won't look like a construction site.
  22. We've eaten there many times and always enjoy it. The Shrimp Po Boy sandwich is very good. The buttermilk chicken breast, when they have it, is delicious.
  23. My wife and daughter are over there now to get their last ice cream from Seashore Sweets. My daughter was there yesterday and the cast members told her today is their last day. They also heard that Flying Fish would be taking over the space. The candy will be moved elsewhere, but they didn't know if the ice cream would be moved anywhere else. That makes the Boardwalk pretty much nothing but restaurants and one store and a bakery. For something modeled after the Atlantic City Boardwalk, that certainly doesn't match anymore. As a kid, I'd always go to Atlantic City, or Ocean City and walk t
