  1. The sites in the 300 loop are 45 - 50 feet deep for the most part, and 15 feet wide. The fifth wheel with the deck will really be tight with little to no room for the truck. If the slides are on both sides of the camper, you may be a bit tight on the width. As you can see in the pictures posted above, the biggest issue is maneuvering through the loops. The premium loops are much better suited to big rigs. I would say that even the full hook up loops are easier to navigate than the preferred loops as the turns are not as sharp and the loops bigger. The only advantage to the preferred loop
  2. We rode the boat past River Country yesterday. I did notice a couple of boats docked there and some people walking around. It was enough activity to make me wonder if something was happening. We extended our stay at the Fort until Saturday, so if I get a chance, I'll try to take a look.
  3. Have to agree with your summary of the Jungle Book show. Saw it once, don't want to waste my time again.
  4. I always fill up on my way to work at the Wawa at 192 and Black Lake Road. The ethanol free pumps are all of the way to the left as you face the building.
  5. Agree 100%. I've seen people with rigs this size make a few attempts to get in to a preferred loop site and after a few tries at orienting the camper in the site (or even backing into an inside site), give up and make the switch to premium. I would make the change. The premium sites will give you a much better experience. Or, as stated above, contact ftwildernessguy for a spot in the 3000 loop. Apparently, very exclusive.
  6. Well, as of today, the "Trail Closed" signs are back up.
  7. As of yesterday, the trail starting next to the Settlement Trading Post is now open. The closed sign is now replaced with a "No Golf Carts" sign. Didn't have time to walk back there, but hope to tonight or tomorrow.
  8. Now I have to retract this post. We are now at the Fort and have a nephew and his family visiting and staying at the Art of Animation. As of yesterday, all of the mugs on the shelves have no handles. Some people are still using the handled mugs, so the total change must have been recent.
  9. The results are exactly what was stated about the price hikes around the time they took effect.. They knew it would drive attendance down while increasing revenue. Cost has always been a method of controlling attendance. It is a balancing act, and they are a business. May not like it, but the parks are more enjoyable with the slightly lower attendance which hopefully results in more repeat visits. I would expect to see some more promotions for the resorts though.
  10. Published or not, the pet friendly loops and non-pet loops still exist since the pet loops have the pick up bag dispensers and the other loops do not. I did read some Disney info lately that mention pet friendly loops. I can't recall where I saw it, but remember thinking that pet friendly sounds ambiguous enough to allow them to skirt the issue.
  11. Yesterday, we were at Art of Animation and All Star Movies. In both cases, we went to the food courts. Every well stocked shelf of mugs I could see had ONLY mugs with handles. There were no signs of mugs without handles at either resort, whether it was in the food court itself, or in the gift shops where they were also for sale. Perhaps it is actually a mistake in ordering. Time will tell I guess.
  12. The charge card works great. Just remember your PIN. You need to enter it each time you fuel. BTW, we check in on the 16th.
  13. The stairs are really ramps. They are at the doorway on the left side of your first picture inside the Coke Store (where the group of people were chanting). You can see the railing there as well. The ramps are really nice and easy to walk, with a glass wall and air conditioning. I almost gave up going upstairs because the elevator line was long. Then we found the ramp.
  14. You are correct. D-Luxe Burgers is a Disney restaurant. I think Disney saw the business that Earl of Sandwich gets and wanted to duplicate that model with different food. That model is decent food in a nice atmosphere served as a counter service restaurant at a decent price compared to other places at Disney. I just hope they will extend this model to other areas as well.
  15. You should be fine in most locations. Worst case would be a trip to a hotel lobby, but I've found WiFi at the Fort to be very good and reliable, especially for what your needs seem to be for your trip.
  16. From your directions, I think you mean the Target on Rt 192 (Irlo Bronson Highway), not I-Drive. :)
  17. No pool, but there is a splash area for kids, and people do swim in the river, and go tubing.
  18. Yes. Usually in front, not too far from the gas pumps. The RV spots are not in the same area as the trucks. They usually have a restaurant like a Denny's as well which makes it nice to grab a quick meal.
  19. We've traveled from Florida as far west as Arizona and Utah. We've stopped at rest areas and Flying J service centers overnight. We've found the RV spots at the Flying J's to be much better. They are well lit and there are a lot of people walking around all night. I was not too thrilled about the rest stops on the Interstates, but we had no issues. Just did not feel as safe, especially since with a trailer, I can't just start the truck and go without leaving the trailer and walking to the truck. There is a Flying J on I-75 in Knoxville, TN that may meet your needs.
  20. We were at the Fort last week. Mosquitoes and flies were not bad at all. Propane is available at the Camping World down the road on US 192 in Kissimmee. As others have stated, you can also get them filled by dropping them off at the Trading Post. If you are staying in the Preferred loops, you'll do fine without bikes. We always stay in those loops. The walk to the Settlement is easy, and the internal buses will take you to the Outpost to catch the buses to the other parks. The 300 loop is the only preferred loop that is pet friendly. If you do not have a pet, the 100 and 20
  21. You'll enjoy it. Very nice campground in a great location.
  22. There is where you broke the code. There has to be a connection to someone turning their heads to this. For a cast member to do something like this is taking a huge risk of getting fired, and it happens all of the time (people getting fired). They watch you like a hawk and will call you in and show you pictures for you to explain (even if it is legitimate). I am surprised your daughter's ID opens that gate. If she's worked a lot of OT, they may have expanded her access, but generally they should not. I know they greatly reduced the staff at Access Control, so perhaps this is now their wa
  23. The wide open pool is really annoying. People are paying for use of that pool and it needs to be enforced. They need to scan the Magic Bands like at other resorts. The guard you had at POR should be fired. Most of the ones we encounter there when stopping in at the food court are very nice.
