  1. Agree regarding other campgrounds not having pet-free loops. However, almost all other campgrounds I've been to, enforce the rules regarding pets (and other things). In addition, most other campgrounds have a smaller percentage of "it's all about me" people in them, and are more likely to be courteous of others. Again, most at the Fort are VERY considerate, but there are a noticeable minority who disregard everybody else. We camped at the Fort 9 times in 2016, and once so far this year. This trip in 2017 was by far the worst in several years in terms of rude people and pets. Usually, ther
  2. They are also SMALL, especially for trash. They fill up quickly.
  3. That's when he would normally dive, during the night shift. It could be something happened though, always possible. The location is certainly interesting.
  4. A friend of mine was a diver there. They would dive all over the place for inspections, repairs, etc.
  5. That's great, but I wasn't talking about them not cleaning up in their site. They let the dogs run loose, and they went in my camp site. The owners would walk out of the camper with the dogs and let them go. They wouldn't watch them, they'd just wait for them to come back. Most pet owners I see are very courteous, as it sounds like you are. It is the few that are causing the problems, and the attitude attached to those few seems to be growing, not only with pets, but things like ignoring rules for golf carts, driving the wrong way around loops, beeping horns at 11:00PM, etc.
  6. Why not? If you make a reservation for a pet loop, that's what you get.
  7. It was a good choice though. The rain and lightning last night was very heavy, with more lightning around 7am. I ran the 10k yesterday and am glad the weather was so good. I talked to several doing the Dopey challenge and know they must be disappointed. At least tomorrow will be a go, but cold.
  8. I specifically asked that question on Wednesday and was told yes.
  9. We are in the 200 loop now. We have dogs on both sides of us and across. The people next to us let their two big dogs run free. This morning I almost stepped in dog crap, on my site. I talked to the front desk and was told when it is crowded like it is right now, "there will be dogs in every loop". However, the policy did not change. Someone said there were dogs in the comfort stations. It is really ridiculous.
  10. The night before our daughter's wedding, we stayed at the Grand Floridian since the ceremony was at the wedding pavilion. I was shocked at how much noise came through those walls. We had to get up around 6, and around 1AM, a family decided it was time to scream and yell. After the wedding and a couple day stay at the Boardwalk, we had a week at Fort Wilderness. I was VERY happy to drive home and bring my camper. MUCH nicer.
  11. We were not too far from you; closer to the ferry. It was great. The crowds were inside and we hit the bus quickly.
  12. But nice new costumes. Both the hostesses (such as Josephine and Paulette) and the servers now where jeans and a blue plaid shirt. The red and white dresses are gone, as are the plain denim shirts. They actually look pretty nice and are comfortable.
  13. My daughter ended up seeing it 3 times in 22 hours due to duplicate tickets and an outing through her job. She loved it. We're going next week probably.
  14. There were plenty there Saturday. We spent the day at Epcot and I told my wife and daughter it looks more like a flea market for drunks every day (due to all of the kiosks and drinking). Several groups with matching T-Shirt like "Getting Lit for Christmas" and "21st Birthday Brigade" were loud and obnoxious, especially during the processional.
  15. The carports are going to be placed at your favorite viewing area along the lake. There will be 45 of them placed evenly up to the bridge near the dam. $900 for a view of the Contemporary, and $750 for a view of the bat house. To enhance the "Wilderness Experience", after sunset the fence will be lowered to start the "Florida Reptile Interaction Experience" (FRIE).
  16. But for only $49.95 per adult, you can be part of the Fort Wilderness Christmas in July Beach Walk/Ice Cream Social!
  17. It goes for more than kids too. When my wife was working in the parks, people would walk in and say, "It's my birthday, what do I get for free?" My wife would pick up the phone and dial the birthday number and hand the phone to them for their character birthday greeting. Like you say, people hear about little things cast would do, which very well may have been part of a guest recovery, and then "require" it. It certainly isn't many people, but enough that it is noticed.
  18. Yep, that's the same verbiage that gets me every time.
  19. Check the fine print just in case.
  20. Good point. That's why I never even look at these since we are always disqualified due to my wife.
  21. No problem. Your article was more up to date since it confirms the other two bodies were the daughters.
