  1. Wow! Didn't know that. Did something take its place?
  2. We were told that there are changes coming to address complaints. I have no idea what that will be since the source is someone who works there and people are being very tight lipped about it and they didn't know what was happening. I know someone else who I may see tonight that may have more information.
  3. Fantasy in the Sky was the fireworks show prior to Wishes. That was good too. My biggest concern is that the projection portions will result in long periods of no fireworks, similar to the globe and fountain portions of Illuminations. Not a big issue if you are in the park, but it really has the potential to ruin viewing the show from the resorts, like the beach at the Fort where you won't be able to see the projections.
  4. I also think I saw them at the Emporium in the Magic Kingdom on Saturday, but not positive. They are definitely at Mickey's Pantry and World of Disney.
  5. She LOVES retirement (retired about a year). She got out at 55, and kept her silver pass and all of the discounts. We just wish we had limited access to the hub since it would make getting discounted resort reservations much easier. Now we have to call instead of looking online.
  6. Thanks. My wife is retired, and our only link online is the retirement site (which is awful) and a Yammer site. You lose the hub access when you retire.
  7. I had lunch at Earl of Sandwich today and saw the mugs at the Kitchen Store as well as World of Disney.
  8. Please post the cast days when you find out. Thanks
  9. Well, you can catch them while they're still here! Herman's Hermits are at Busch Gardens 2/6 - 2/11. And surprisingly, Peter Noone is only 69.
  10. Can't imagine this happening, especially with the DVC building at the Grand being so new and matching the current Grand Floridian. Of course with Chapek at the helm, anything is possible. He's bringing back memories of Paul Pressler.
  11. We were at Disney Springs the night they opened. There were a lot of people at the Observatory, but it wasn't nuts. The whole opening night was very low key, and I read that one reason was Robert Earl's daughter went into labor and he wasn't there. Therefore, any "grand opening" ceremony was cancelled or deferred.
  12. I can see why it cost millions. My daughter had her wedding rehearsal dinner at Fultons in April 2014. I was shocked at how worn the restaurant had become, as we had not been there as Fulton's, only as Empress Lilly. My wife and I ate there on our honeymoon in 1984 and it didn't look like there was a major refurbishment in all that time. I will say it looks nice, and it is great to see the paddlewheel back in place (as well as the stacks). It really looked bad with it missing all of those years. Last Friday it looked like they were doing a lot of final work as well as having the empl
  13. There are plenty of bears in Central Florida. Why wouldn't they be at Fort Wilderness? They even are seen in Orlando itself.
  14. We stayed at Spanish Trail Campground in Moab and it was nice, very friendly people. As mentioned above, Portal is supposed to be excellent. I don't know when you are going, but there is supposed to be MAJOR roadwork taking place at Arches National Park in 2017. You may want to check that out. Don't miss Canyonlands while at Moab; incredible. http://www.spanishtrailrvpark.com https://www.nps.gov/arch/planyourvisit/construction.htm
  15. ^^^^This, especially regarding going before closing.
  16. That ride will be MUCH bigger than it looked when we saw the construction site. Thanks for posting that.
  17. Waiting for the 3PM parade, my wife was standing next to a trash can near Casey's. i was standing a bit further back, and went to use the rest room. As I came back I saw my wife turn around quickly, but didn't know what happened until afterwards (thankfully). When I saw her move, I said something to her and saw a guy standing there looking somewhat worried. Later, my wife said the man and his wife came up behind her, and the guy pushed my wife into the street and they wanted her spot. My wife is a lot tougher than she looks, so she stood her ground in a way that I didn't know what happened.
  18. Very true. I think the fact we can come in on Thursdays is a big help. Congratulations on the STEM program. I love to see that.
  19. When we were there in October, we could see the new ride was being built near the shark Reef, but not at the same location. If you had your back towards the wave pool and were looking at the Shrk Reef, the construction was taking place to the right and a bit further back. Perhaps some supporting buildings or stores will replace Shark Reef once the other construction is done.
  20. We usually check in on Thursdays and out on Sunday or Monday. We do make the reservations way in advance. For example, we have 2017 reserved in May and June as well as October, November and December. This year was excessive because we had family visiting several times and it was easier for us to be at the campground then drive in to get into the parks with family every day. Finding opening in January through mid April is really difficult now; but we can usually do pretty well in July to September. We almost always stay in a preferred site, although this december we had to book a pre
  21. If the trailer draws more than 30 amps, wouldn't that just trip the breaker on the power pole? I'm not thinking of low voltage, but perhaps I'm missing something.
  22. The worst that will happen is you will trip the circuit breaker.
