  1. Yes! It leads you right to Geyser Point.
  2. Florida Discount Self Storage in Clermont is not too far from Disney. They have just built covered RV storage as well as open air storage. Their web site is: Florida Neighborhood Self Storage
  3. Now that it is fully open, my wife and I had lunch at Roaring Forks on Saturday. The new setup works really well, although there is definitely some confusion related where to order your food. We ordered at the cashier, who said you could order either at the cashier or the counter, but cashier is easier. In any case, we had the flatbread with goat cheese, caramelized onions, sausage and pepperoni. It was outstanding; easily on par with flatbreads you would expect from a table service restaurant. At $10.95 it wasn't a bad deal at all.
  4. My wife and I walked the paved trail from Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness on Saturday. We noticed the nature trail entrance is no longer blocked off. So on our way back to the Lodge, we turned down there. It is still a nice walk and eventually you come upon the cabins. They really did a nice job in that area and the walk is still enjoyable.
  5. There is definitely no burn ban. We were walking around the Fort on Saturday and there is a LOT of standing water. Last night in Clermont we got over an inch and a half of rain. Not sure of what they got at Disney, but it would only add to what's there. We check in on Wednesday so I'm hoping for some dry weather, but it doesn't look like it. We've had a lot of rain lately. Beats worrying about a fire.
  6. Very true. I walked through that area of Innoventions last week. What a wasteland. I saw no activity at Sum of All Thrills and I believe Colortopia is the only thing operating. They would have to reopen the entrance near guest relations to make sure to get people in, but I don't think they can. It will be interesting to say the least.
  7. August 13th is the last day for EEA as well as the Great Movie Ride.
  8. Yeah, I was thinking about that, but figured I'd suggest anyways. Wilderness Lodge would be nice and convenient as well as relaxing.
  9. If you haven't checked it out, Abracadabar on the Boardwalk is pretty nice too.
  10. Now that my wife is retired, she's lost access to the hub. Therefore she needs to call reservations to get the cast discounts added to our reservations. She's encountered people in Chicago, Miami, Charlotte and more. Some are excellent, but many have no clue what the heck they are doing. I just wish they would give retirees partial access to the hub so we can make our reservations like we used to and avoid having to call.
  11. Just got back from a quick run over to Studios to get on the Great Movie Ride one more time before the weekend. The park was somewhat crowded. We waited about 30 minutes to get on. Nice to see it one more time and I was able to grab some final pictures and videos.
  12. That's about what they were doing. We enjoyed the empty park though, and got to see Universe of Energy before it closes. The Frozen ride had a 40 minute wait, and Sorain was 35 minutes. Funny thing is, we left around 3:00PM as heavy rains were moving in and there were a lot of people entering the park along with the rain.
  13. Fortunately, this location is plenty far enough away from Fort Wilderness so it will not be heard.
  14. Now THAT is who I want to see at Food and Wine (along with Kenny G this year)!
  15. I left the UCF area to head home from work around 4:30. Hit some very heavy rain on the 408 and the Turnpike. had been raining hard at our home in Clermont. On the drive to work this morning I drove through Disney on my way to the 417. Looked like a lot of the standing water had been absorbed, although the ground is obviously saturated. Nothing looked really bad though. i saw on a later FB post that everything seems fine at the Fort now with much of the heavy ponding of water now gone.
  16. Not sure where you are going, but Spanish Trail Campground in Moab was nice and convenient to Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. Ruby's is great for Bryce Canyon.
  17. They did announce a "total re-imagining" of Future World.
  18. I remember watching that. I thought it seemed like chaos in the air and on the water. It ended after someone was killed during a rehearsal. Here is some more info: http://www.disneyavenue.com/2015/11/epcots-skyleidoscope-lagoon-show.html
  19. All for Disney's celebration of my retirement in 2021 (and maybe some small anniversary for Disney World).
  20. Cades Cove is outstanding. Besides the 11 mile loop drive, there are plenty of places to pull off and explore the cabins and churches still there. In addition, there are some great hikes in the area, from easy to moderate, such as Abrams Falls Trail, Rich Mountain Loop trail. We always see a lot of wildlife, including bears. This video will give you a portion of what you can see: Cades Cove - Great Smoky Mountains
