Wood or plastic...
5kidsmommy replied to twiceblessed....nacole's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
We use and keep both in the trailer. I like having the versatility. Haha! Let me rephrase that , Mr. 5kidsmommy likes having the versatility. -
I have to say when someone is injured in the parks they are very quick to take care of you. Our daughter was injured on the Buzz Lightyear ride. She was 6 at the time and as we were getting off the ride the car lurched forward and she banged her face. Her nose immediately started bleeding like crazy. They quickly rushed in to take her backstage and had medics check her out. Her nose wasn't broken and it did stop bleeding after about 10 minutes. They had some big whig types there the entire time, they were very nice to all of us. Her clothes and shoes were covered in blood so they sent someon

WDW Railroad Closing for Refurb - CONFIRMED
5kidsmommy replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
I have an autistic son, who loves the railroad, so for him it would be a big deal. It would be pointless to go if his main attraction was down. -

WDW Railroad Closing for Refurb - CONFIRMED
5kidsmommy replied to BradyBzLyn...Mo's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
Awwww man! We were thinking of doing a "everyone is back in school" Disney trip, but there is no way I will go if the railroad is closed. -
The Importance of "Rope Drop" and a Plan
5kidsmommy replied to GaDawgFan.....Kelly's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
We've done rope drops twice and both were for our last trip in January. We did rope drop at Epcot because my daughter wanted to meet Anna and Elsa and I didn't want a mega long line, we still had to wait two hours but it wasn't bad at all. And we did a rope drop at MK a couple days later just the two of us because she wanted to fill out her autograph book. It was a blast with just the two of us but a total pain to bring the five guys. -
Turning Park Maps into Coasters

This is a great idea. I think I will make some for myself and for my MIL. -
Let's Build A Mickey Rope Light

I am so glad you bumped this. I don't think I could do the lamp post but I could totally (and will) do this for our next trip. Thanks oh crafty ones. -
If you get a new tv you will be fine. Even though we didn't need it at the fort we got a tv with the dvd player built in. Sometimes we stay places with no cable or spotty cable and it's nice to have the option to watch a movie.

Extreme crowd level forecast changes
5kidsmommy replied to AC in A2......Aaron's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
That's how it seemed to me. We were there midweek this January and long waits were pretty normal. There were tons of chanting people following flags which was nice because we were able to run the other way when we saw them. -
Extreme crowd level forecast changes
5kidsmommy replied to AC in A2......Aaron's topic in WDW and Disney Park Discussions
While I love the weather in January I don't know if I can do January again, this year it was just too crowded. I think that the news is out that January was nice and not crowded. -
Help Picking a Loop for April 15
5kidsmommy replied to Jeff & Claudia's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
We are partial to 1700. We have a 24' hybrid, folded out it's about 31'. While it's a little further from all the perks I like the 1700 loop because the sites are roomy and we aren't on top of our neighbors. For me space is a big deal. Some people prefer the big concrete pads but since we have a large carpet it's a non-issue for us. -
Must have been a glitch in the system, I double checked this morning and the sites are there. So strange but we all know their site has issues from time to time.

Various dates in September, October, November and December. I was just trying to see what was available as we are super flexible. It was just weird because full did not come up once but every other class of site was there, full didn't even show up as unavailable.

Are the full hook-up loops scheduled for refurbishing? I am trying to make reservations online and I can't find them available at all.

Non-PUP in the 1500 loop allowed?
5kidsmommy replied to Momof6....aka Marty's topic in Fort Wilderness Loops Information
Our hybrid is 24' closed and about 31' open, I prefer the full hookups because I like to be able to use my sink and toilet. The cost difference is so small it just doesn't seem worth is to not use all the features of my trailer. -
Trying to prepare myself...
5kidsmommy replied to ddepr1217's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
My advice is similar to the other fiends. I also suggest going for rope drop. Give yourself plenty of time to there, some of the parks can take up to an hour to travel to when you include waiting for the bus. Getting to MK is the quickest and the boat ride was what my kids loved the most when they were young. With a little one I would hit the parks early, get fastpasses for the rides you want a little later in the morning and hit the character lines first thing since you said that is what she is excited about. Also make sure to enjoy the fort. We like to hit the parks early then come back and -
Campsite Etiquette
5kidsmommy replied to GaDawgFan.....Kelly's topic in General Camping Discussion and Questions
I have five kids, hence the name and my kids learned from the time they could walk that they are not to go on other people's property that includes campsites. I definitely think you should say something, what they are doing is wrong and you are right to be upset.
