It's been a while since I posted any photos, but here was the latest scouting adventure. Troop 27 went to the White Mountain National Forest, just 5 days after the remnants of Hurricane Irene trashed the northeast with flooding. We departed at noon on Friday of Labor Day weekend and arrived by mid afternoon. We had two tent sites and were limited on the number of tents we could use on the sites. So we used two borrowed 8-man tents and then a few smaller hiking tents to squeeze in. This is not the kind of campground that you can fit a large RV in, but could easily fit a popup or T@B style tr

Sorry to hear this, and while we have no experience with barium swallow, I can say we've had a lot of experience with x-rays and radiation. The newer x-ray machines are much more sensitive and use much lower doses of radiation than before, so you should be safe. We were just there on the 11th, and the food was great. Our server was not as into the whole theme as much as we have had for servers years ago, but he was quick with refills. Nobody was sent to the corner and only one person (our oldest, Justin) was forced to eat his vegetables. This was our first trip where we tried the whole notifying WDW Dining in advance of Justin's Celiac disease and not being able to eat wheat, oats or barley. Exhausted - we left early.

We got in to Pop around 2:00 and took a nap to recharge in time for 5:15 at O'Hana! In line at Space Mountain now, but here's a few from the restaurant. Chef came out and prepared special food for Justin (Celiac).

I am headed for Pop in less than 48 hours and the timing on this TR is perfect. Like you said, it's not the Fort, but I could not convince the kids to go on another road trip from here in MA.

Great start to the trip. We flew once when our oldest was 3, our family doctor recommended a decongestant (Robitussin I think) to help dry out the sinuses and allow the cabin pressure to change more easily in the ears. It had the added benefit of making him a zombie for about 12 hours. I still remember draping him across the luggage like a rag doll as we wheeled the luggage through the terminal! Everyone thought he was so well behaved....I said nothing.

So glad to hear about the treat from the chef at the Wilderness Lodge - seems like some folks really know how to spread some kindness. I still remember getting to the food court area too early one morning at Pop Century (like TCD, I am a morning person and usually go for a stroll while everyone else sleeps). Well, I walked up and tried the door which was locked. One of the CM's who was busy setting up the area came over and opened the door for me and pointed to a coffee machine that was already warmed up and ready to go. Made my day.

Looks like a fun trip. Really sorry to hear about your mom, but that photo of her on the bench with a big smile on her face is fantastic. Can't wait for more of this!

Loving this trip report - you guys seem to know how to make lemonade out of lemons and let your little one set the pace. It's been a while since we went to the parks with little ones, but I remember how different the days go, especially toward the end of the trip. But there is nothing more stressful than watching some folks push the kids past their breaking point and just keep marching along singing the "Do you realize how much this vacation is costing me?" mantra. Man, I hate computer viruses. Any chance the folks at Norton could give you a path to a built in DOS version of their virus killer? I remember getting hit by a virus years ago that would shut down any and all anti-virus programs. Luckily, the guy at Norton (maybe it was McAffee?) gave me the tools I needed to launch a handy little program in DOS. When I rebooted the computer, I went straight to DOS and ran that command. Left the program running all night and woke up the next morning to a clean machine. Takes a long time, but DOS only lets one executable run at once, so that anti-virus pr
